New NICO member here I have gear ratio errors on the OBD

Hello,My J throws 2 codes the gear ratio and a knock sensor. I'm getting about 14 MPG city and 21 hwy. I called a transmission shop he said it would have to be re built @ $3000.00 Is this right?? Thanks in advance for sharing

Does the transmission shift like normal ??The Knock sensor is whats killing your mileage.

Ive heard of a rev sensor in the transmission that sometimes goes out ..Someone will chime in on that Im sure.

The Turbine speed sensor is the one that I heard usually goes. Noting will happen to your transmission though. For $3000 to rebuild you might as well just get a $300 jdm one and have them install it, or install it yourself. This is what I did and it was way cheaper.

Thank you for replying. The car shifts from 1st to second at like 4000 rpms. It really lurches and I know somethng is seriously wrong, but does that mean a rebuild ?

I suspect your transmission problem is a rev/turbine sensor. Start there first.

What does your transmission fluid look like?
