I personally think it's horrible, they said it's geographically based, so I guess Bettman thinks Ottawa and Tampa are within walking distance lol.

The makeup of the yet-to-be-named four conferences is as follows:

* New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Washington and Carolina

* Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo, Florida and Tampa Bay

* Detroit, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Minnesota, Dallas and Winnipeg

* Los Angeles, Anaheim, Phoenix, San Jose, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado

The four conferences are designed to alleviate geographic concerns among several current Western Conference teams that had been unhappy about their extensive travel through one, two, and sometimes even three time zones. Some of those teams argued that the late start of road games in the Pacific time zone were affecting fan interest, especially among younger fans.
I'm a die hard Caps fan ( I liked them when they sucked, when they were awesome, and now when they suck again), So the only thing good for me in this is that Pittsburgh will be seen a lot during the year.

What do you guys think?

Ehhh I'm fine where the Hawks landed but can see why some others would be upset.

I would have preferred to see Boston and Carolina switch with each other. Boston, Philly, WashDC and New York are natural rivals in most other professional sports. Hockey should be no diferent.

You're right. The division with DC, Pittsburgh and Philly is going to have some scrappy, dirty games lol. This division will probably rekindle the market for enforcers.

Stupid lockout. Almost everyone in professional sports is paid too much.

It's more stupid with the NHL because they did the same thing just 8 years ago.

Even if they somehow save what's left of the season, I refuse to go to a game now.

I'll save my money for the Nationals.
