So I had the Bluetooth/Nav replaced on my 2006 M35x because it was garbled on my end. The dealer replaced it per the TSB. When I picked up the car, all my data had been lost, including service intervals. Not a huge biggie. There is now a GSM/CDMA setting which is new on the phone setup. That is cool.

But last night was the first time I drove the car at night. I could not get the map to go to "warm" display mode. I went into the settings, and it was set for warm, but still showed the cool display, which I hate. It was not like this before the nav/bluetooth swap. The menu for display is now different that the manual, as the color is not an option under display, instead it is under navigation settings. When I toggle the headlights off, the map returns to warm display.

Has anyone else had this problem? I liked it the old way, where is was warm colored regardless of the headlights being on or off, it just dimmed the display. Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, after looking in the Navigation Manual, it appears the the issue is not warm vs. cool settings, but an inability to change the background color. That option is gone entirely from the display setting menu. It now defaults to the white background on the Daytime settings, and the Black background on the nighttime settings. (Which is why then I turn the headlights on it defaults to the Nighttime settings). I absolutely HATE the black background. Has anyone else who has had their nav/bluetooth unit replaced had this happen? It appears to be a change in the software, although I will say that the warm/cool change appears to have no effect at all on anything either....I am VERY frustrated by this, especially since the Bluetooth is working GREAT now!

Hey man. My Navi has always switched back and forth the way you are describing, before the BT fix and after. I love the night NAV though lol. There is bound to be some option to do it the way you used to have it. Good luck.
