There is not a CVT problem. The issues are few and far between which puts it on par with any other transmission. The important thing to remember is to be sure to follow the scheduled maintenance in the owners manual, and ALWAYS have the transmission fluid replaced at a Nissan dealer.kled54 wrote:Just yesterday, i bought a 2004 Murano, it has around 75000 miles on it, i am loving it, the exterior look (dark blue paint), and the interior comfort (black leather)...but after surfing the internet looking for some reviews or advice, i was so shocked to know that it has a transmission problem, at first the CVT technology pushed me to buy it, and now that same reason is giving me a headache. i hope i did the right thing, and fingers crossed for the CVT.
Thanks for your reply, but i thought that normally, you do not have to replace the fluid transmission....unless you replaced the whole transmission?am i wrong?Timmbo wrote:

Check your the maint. guide in your owner's manual, it will tell you the interval at which you should have your fluid replaced. The oil could be a trace, but keep an eye on it.kled54 wrote:

BTW when i asked nissan guys to check it, before i buy it, the guy said there is a trace of oil under the transmission, i asked him if it's a leak? he replied no leak just a small trace that is not important, could be a loose joint...he assured me that it's not a problem...what do you think?
