Hello! I am very excited to be purchasing our first Murano on Thursday. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information of the different types of extended warrenties are available so I have some time to think about it before Thursday. Also - are there any Nissan dealers who will sell the Nissan extended warrenty at a discount? When we purchased our Toyota Sienna minivan, we were able to purchase the Toyota extended warrenty for about 1/2 the price our dealer was offering it.

Thanks so much!

Hello again - so I have been able to learn about the different types of extended warrenty's available and have found some dealers who do sell them at a discount. Still working on pricing, but KC Summers in Matton Il (Matt Bowen) has quoted the Gold Security Plus Preferred at $990 for the 72 mos, 100,000 with $0 deductible. I have asked him for another quote if we go with the $50 deductible. We purchased our Sienna extended warrenty from Matt, and everything worked out great!

Any thoughts? Who have you bought your extended warrenty from?

I have looked at teh Maintenace Plus also and am going to pass on it unless I read something that changes my mind.

Welcome aboard, and congrats on your new Murano!

Keep in mind, you don't need to buy the warranty yet - You already HAVE a 3-year, 36K mile warranty.

Whatever warranty you choose, buy it from the selling Nissan dealer. I have not been an extended warranty fan, but after spending $1800 for timing chains and tensioners replacement on my 2006 Frontier at 71K miles, I spent the money for the basic extended warranty on my 2011 Murano.

I have bought the extended warranty for the past 3 cars I had and came ahead of the cost I paid.

Yesterday I picked up my 2011 SL Murano with the extended warranty 7 yrs for 100k km for $2,200. Can. Along came 7 yrs road assistance from nissan(same as the 3 yrs Nissan gives, 4 free oil changes, plus some other perks. The 7 yrs is the same as the Nissan 3yrs warranty. I could of bought at the end of the 3 years, but 4 extra years of road assistance and 4 free oil changes its worth around $750.

I was able negotiate $200. Then I took the 6 yrs replacement warranty for $2400. can

It came cheaper from Nissan than my car insurance. I can cancel any time and get the balance back.

I hope the Murano will give me the same reliability I got from my X-2001 Santa Fe. the average cost for the 10.5 years was $300. (oil change, brakes, tires some little repairs also I had an extended warranty on it.
