So with some great advise I figured I'd post a thread about movies. Whether its one you just watched on Netflix or at the theater or its an upcoming movie that you're really interested in...post up your thoughts why you liked it (or didn't) or what you're looking forward to....try not to hate on other people's opinions or put out any spoilers to ruin the movie for anyone

I'll start it off with one of each:

I saw Unknown in theaters, and I thought it was pretty good. The action was good and Liam Neeson is a great actor. I like when he is paired with Diane Kruger, bc they're great on film together. It was definitely action packed in a few scenes. It was like the Born movies had a baby with Taken. Of course, unlike those two movies this one had more story to it, but it was fun trying to unravel the plot. The ending, I thought, was kinda predictable but good none the less.

On netflix, I rented Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Though I'm sure there was a message in there somewhere about American decline, corruption in banks, and corruption of the American way of life in general, I found it kinda boring and overdone. Of course, I'm more of an action and entertaining story person myself when it comes to movies and for me this one just didn't hit any of my areas of interest.

And for an upcoming movie, one that I'm really looking forward to, Batman 3 The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan is back again to direct the movie and the villain this time is Bane, which I think is awesome. Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. My early thoughts, since this is the last Nolan directed Batman movie, I think they're going to follow the comic books and break Batman's back. I know that Christian Bale has gone on the record saying that he will not be in a movie where there is a Robin cast. So I kinda think that the title The Dark Knight Rises could stand for the rise of another hero. d!ck Grayson aka Nightwing????

I've heard great things about I Am Number Four, and Battlefield: L.A. Both seem like really cool flicks to go see. I'll probably hit them up sometime this weekend.

I saw 2 theater movies in the last month.

The Kings Speech: I had low expectations being a guy: no car chases, no explosions, no violence, no special effects, no wild sex, but I was very surprised how entertaining it was. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush (Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean) were great. There were also several actors from the Harry Potter series in it. It deserved the academy award. Worth seeing.

The Black Swan: I had high expectations going into this one, movie featured hot chicks and sex (Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis in a lesbian love scene. I ended up disliking the movie, but my wife really liked it. It's a dark chick flick. Portman was very good in a difficult lead role, and is easy on the eyes, but not enough to make me want to see it ever again.

:naughty: :naughty: Reason enough to see this movie. Anne Hathaway in black leather suit? Yes, please.

Also, Limitless looks like it has some solid potential.

Isn't there another F&F movie due soon?

Hopefully not.

I dunno about Anne Hathaway. Perhaps it's me. I find her pretty but not sexy.

No, there is another F&F movie. As a car guy, I'm obligated to watch. I always like the race scenes anyway. Just not so much the hype into bodykits and ish.

Wait, isn't being a car guy is a primary reason NOT to watch F&F movies?

Different perspectives. I like seeing races, fake or not. And F&F just kinda overhypes everything to the point it's entertaining. So. Much. Crappy. Acting. So. Much. Fake. Emotion. So. Much. Fake. Tailpipe flames!

As bad as F&F 3 was I still went to see F&F 4 and wasn't too disappointed. Seems more like they're car thieves now than the "let's race to see who's car is the most riced out" which I think has made the movies more interesting. Plus the cars in the movies are a lot cleaner.

I saw Battlefield L.A. too. Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the movie and how realistic it seemed. There were a couple parts that we kinda laughed at that were supposed to be serious but they were way over-acted or just kinda dumb. The movie really doesn't have a strong story but is very action packed and worth seeing in theaters. To sum it up best its kinda like watching an interesting video game

Hmm. Battle: L.A. is right up my alley, but seems like a mashup of Independence Day and Transformers. I Am Number Four has been described as "Twilight with aliens" (or a movie version of the old WB/CW series "Roswell".

I think you should let me know how they are. ;)
