Are you kidding me! 1250.00 for an axle back system. So basicly they want to tear you a new one, in the tune of 1250.00 for a muffler! They can get bent!

Rant over

There's a LOT more going on than what you guys are seeing. I've been talking to Tony over at Motordyne for a couple of months now. I'm trying to do a thorough analysis of all of their exhaust components so I can give you guys a full article with dyno charts and sound clips.

no matter how much is "going on there", it is over priced.

It's not an axle-back exhaust first of all. The system is designed in suck a manner that swapping out test pipe, single cat, resonators, y-pipe, and tips are EXTREMELY fast and easy. There isn't another exhaust on the market right now that can be as easily tuned as this one (both for performance and sound).

From what I see, if nothing else it is a poorly designed web site since you really can't see what is included for the $1250 price tag. I believe if what you see is what you get, then it is way over priced. But they do call it an 'exhaust system', if that is really the case then it should include more then what meets the eye.

their new exhaust system doesn't inclue the XYZ y-pipe. That is the only part that is cool that they make for exhaust. And that, as cool as it is, is expensive as well.

Check the website again. I saw they had the exhaust broken down to like three individual pieces......the Y pipe, the mid pipe and the axle back portion. All together was $1250. It had seperate prices for the seperate pieces. Plus, if you read closely, (I know most of us went to public school so concentrate ) the system also includes with the Y pipe, the straight pipe, the cat and the resonator. Unless I got some bad brownies when I read it

Maybe bad brownies, maybe not.

It list everything in separate parts like you state, but then when it list the system it shows only what is axle back, the only hint to something different (other than calling it a system) is:

'Many of the Motordyne exhaust systems use interchangable parts so you no longer have to buy a completely new system to change between daily driving or race track applications.'

This statement in itself is interesting as it appears that not all Motordyne exhaust systems contain interchangeable parts.

Also it makes the statement regarding the muffler and tips.

In short not well done.

LOL

Ya, the picture shows just the muffler and a small pipe. At most it includes the midpipe... for $1250 I bet it is y-pipe back. that y-pipe is freakin' sweet though.

Still need to contact Tony to setup our testing.

The $1250 system is a y-pipe back exhaust. All of the pieces are modular with easy to disassemble connectors. Straight pipe, resonator, and replacement cat can be run after the xyz pipe.
