Well, I'm going ahead and getting the body work done on the car in the coming weeks.During this time, I'm taking the liberty of preparing the new motor for it. It'll be in stock tune for the original installation and modifications can be done from there.

For those of you who don't know, I'm that idiot who's strapping in a Ford 2.3Turbo motor to the 240sx.Why? Because I have a donor car with everything I need.

(Yeah, I know, it's a Ford motor. )

What computer are you going to run? And how do you plan on getting it to communicate wtih the rest of the car? Cause ive seen an LA3 computer and others in a ranger, and i dont even think it has enough pins to repin it.

Good luck on the swap, im gonna be helping my friend put the 2.3T in his ranger, should be pretty fun. I would recomend the ported and turned intake manifold from bob (i think its http://www.40bob.com r something) Will u be using that T5 transmission shown in the pick or somehow matting it to the KA transmission? good luck. keep us updated~Sam

Would this be the same 2.3L motor that goes in the Pinto? Or is this a newer one?

I'm going to remove the entire wiring harness from the Merkur and put it into the 240sx. I am still working out details like hard-wiring the factory tach and adapting the speedometer cable.

I know all about 40Bob. Hell, Rod from Rod's Headers lives in my town (Makes the fancy header - Very nive, but very expensive).

I'm going to get a turned intake custom fabbed up. I'm going to run it of the PF3 (5speed Merkur ECU).

And yes, the T5 is going in the 240sx.

LOL You have a point.

But with that said, the ford 2.3T head design is nothing but low tech. I think it was a step up from the old flatheads.

But it does have potential, if im not mistake 300hp can be had for not too much work. Esslinger makes some good products for that motor.~Sam

Nope, just a SOHC 8valve torque monster.

On another note, I removed the wiring harness and ECU tonight. Looks like it's 240 motor pullin time.
