I have been going over this forum for a while and now is the time to join, lots of good info and experience to be found!
About to buy my first ever 4x4, a 1993 Nissan Hardbody but has a problem, antifreeze leaking into the oil pan after a headgasket change. Not sure if I want to make the repairs or swap out the same 4 cylinder engine fron a two wheel drive, if possible.
This will make my sixth Nissan truck and I have owned a 86 Toyota p/u and a 1991 Mazda B2600. The Nissans are best by far!
Any thoughts on the antifreeze leak? How about the engine swap?

Welcome to NICO! It's hard to tell how much damage the engine has without pulling the head. I imagine the gasket could have been damaged during installation or the head was seriously warped. For instant gratification I would drop a good engine and drive it. If you are the mechanical type and want to fix it then it's time to pull the head and see what's what. They are very worth it whichever way you decide.

Since the Nissan 4x4 is not in my hands as of yet and I do not know exactly how the repair was done. It is possible they forgot to place the new gasket properly or forgot a pass pin for alignment and it may be causing the gasket to be out of place, I really do not know till I get the truck here. The Truck is located 100 miles one way from me and the owner is willing to transport it here for an extra 70 dollars, now that is a good deal! :naughty:
I also have a 1993 Hardbody that was in a crash, the engine should swap out and I think it is ok as it was hit in the front. Also it is an automatic so I would have to change the flywheel. The Whole deal is not done as I am going to go and check it out for my self. Not today as it is about 10 degrees with a stiff wind! Wind chills are -10 or better and the truck is in a Lake Effect snow belt so is kinda buried.... My Nissan Frontier was hit two weeks ago and was totaled, so this will be a replacement.

$70 to deliver, that's a good deal. If you have the parts from a donor truck then this one is a no-brainer.
