Hello all new to the site.

Hate to admit this but I messed up.

I had to park my 99 GXE Limited 193,000 miles on it. I filled it with 93 octane and a bottle of Stabile. It wound up sitting for 2 years and I only started it a few times. I needed to put her back on the road recently. She started right up after replacing the battery. After about 1000 mile I got a check engine light. Code 1446 printout states, evap cannister control valve closed. My mechanic changed the valve and the light is back on with the same code. A new cannister is 320.00 just for the part. Any ideas before I go forward.

Have a mechanic run a smoke test thru the EVAP system so you don't go throwing money away, this way at least you should get to the root of the problem.
