Out with the giant SUV, and IN with the new coupe!
*** I am not posting this in the Q60 forum because Fetucini will not be a forum member. Just posting here to share the purchase. ***
Some of you read my recent post regarding the 2018 Q60 3.0 coupe loaner vehicle I was saddled with whilst the polar beast (my M35) was in the shop. Meanwhile, we have been looking to trade our other car - the giant SUV for months - Fetucini is in charge of finding the replacement since she will drive it 99% of the time. She didn't find anything that really grabbed her so she placed the searching on hold.
However, after 6 days and few drives in the Q60, she fell hopelessly in love. She knew how I felt about the loaner, but she really wanted one - well equipped like the Polar Beast. So ... I called Geoffery (my service rep) on Monday and he fixed her up with a sales person. They recently took in a 2017 Q60 3.0 Luxe with all three extra packages, plus mood lighting, ground lighting, and aniline leather. When I built a 2018 model at the website, and added all the extras in this car, it totalled $57,445. They had 3-4 other Q60s that were slightly less expensive, but this was the only one in Hagane Blue Metallic and that is her fav color.

This is a 2017 CPO with 8,000 miles. It was on the 'christmas whatever' sale reduced to $41,900. Tuesday, Fetucini took me to see it, we made an offer of $40,000 and it was rejected. They came back with $38,500, so I signed the papers, called the bank, and set up the transfer. They did me well trading the SUV, including an oil / filter change, and a complete detail of the Q60. The balance due transferred this morning, and Fetucini dropped off the SUV, and left with the Q60. She drove it to her Mum's and snapped some pictures.
This was a $57,000 car with only 8k miles, was in pristine condition, and still lost $18,000 in value in one year!

Thanks mate !
I am still shocked how quickly new cars lose value. If I'm honest, this is much nicer than the base Q60 I had as a loaner. I will be changing the tires to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (same as on the polar beast). That should alleviate most of the tire noise from the stock run flat tires. Still not my choice for a daily driver, but Fetucini loves it and that's all that matters.

interested in learning why you didn't pick the rwd over the awd since you're living in no-snow land

Well, you're absolutely right Cruzad. Personally I don't place lots of faith in AWD even IF there was snow, but that's another story. We were looking at slightly used Q60s and believe it or not, most of the units were AWD. I have no idea why AWD is a big seller here. I googled and it snowed in Miami in 1977 for one day - about 1 inch fell in a freak storm - before that no record of any snow here.
Bottom line, this was one of only 2 units that had every option and package available (minus WiFi) and Fetucini fell in love with Hagane Blue Metalic. The other one was black and that color with black interior was just a bit toooo black.
If I'm honest, I have to say Hagane Blue is the best color for this car - the way the sun bounces off the curves and creases and the way the metal flakes reflect is stunning.

It is definitely a nice car, but not quite what I would get for a long-term vehicle if you have to drive around more than two people in the car!

I got an Infiniti Q60 rental a few months ago as an exchange from Hertz after turning in a Mercedes 250 or 350 that was not a fun car at all.

Unfortunately, we discovered why the Q60 could not be a good car for us long-term. The two-doors, combined with a sloping rear glass roof ... :ohno:

When my 5' 11" son sat in the rear, he kept bumping his head on the glass of the rear windshield. Ouch!

So, on a long trip, my wife at 5' 5" swapped with him. When clambering out of the car, she inadvertently "sat" down behind the passenger seat, with her legs dangling out, and it was really difficult to extricate her from there ... and she is not a big person! My laughter probably did not help the situation.

My son has decided that if he ever buys a two-door car, it is will be a two-seater as well ... :yesnod

Absolutely right! I was completely dissatisfied with my Q60 loaner as well. Unfortunately, my wife 'Fetucini' was just the opposite. She absolutely loves this car. I'm 6'3" and even with the driver seat back AND reclined, my head will still easily hit the roof. Fetucini is the only person who will be driving it. About the rear seat ... I have 2 rottys, a shepherd, and a retriever. NONE of them can fit comfy in the back seat, LOL. So I doubt that area is good for anything but a small overnight case. The exterior has got to be the best looking coupe if all brands, but that's where it ends for me.
