Brakes are not normally covered under warranty unless there is a Technical Service Bulletin for the issue.

I just took my 03 G35 coupe for smog and it didnt pass. The mechanic told me that the knock senor needs to be replaced. I hardly drive this car as to this is my weekend car for nice drives it you know what I mean. Well, anyway, I dont understand why the check engine light didnt come on. When I called infiniti dealer they told me that sometimes the check engine light will not come on when the knock senor is defective (its like a hit or miss) but when it doesnt come on usually it passes smog. The battery was reset due to me not driving it so I was told to drive it at least 100 mile and I drove it about 200 miles just to make sure. I think personally I have put maybe 10,000 miles on this car after I bought it from the Nissan dealership where I live. Please explain to me if anyone may know what going on.
