Dees,

Now you do! There's a huge portuguese & brazilian community in my area. Strangely, learning portuguese was so much easier for me because my Spanish was already pretty good (grew up in a Mexican neighborhoods in parts of CA, Oakland, Long Beach, Modesto). The two languages are so similar, I was pretty much a secondary, subconscious learning. It also helps that one of my ex-gf's was brazilian.

Not sure about portuguese being "the language of angels" though. I think Mandarin or Farsi are the most beautiful of languages.

Really? I lived in Long Beach for some time and personally, don't regret movin'. I personally think SoCal is overrated. Maybe I'm just bitter because I lived in the ghetto parts? I actually prefer the Gay Area, I mean, Bay Area. :D

Tino - I gargle with pepper spray.

HKC: I'd suggest dressing up like Tino's mom - That should keep me FAR away. :D

mandarin?! wow, that's a first! never heard that before, i have heard French and Italian, but never Mandarin.... but i must say that Mandarin is beautiful to me too, since i do speak it too! :) but seriously though, i think among all the dialects of the chinese language, mandarin gotta be the most beautiful one, no wonder it's the official spoken language!

hola, muy bien! i have tons of hispanic friends, so i do know a tiny bit of spanish! eheh...

i have been to Chicago in fact, and i went to the cubs game... not that i am too interested in baseball, but oh well! you dont really need to know chinese to go to Hong Kong, HK was part of England for 100 years, so English is everywhere! and money...well you do need some of that! you will need about US$800 for round trip tickets, than maybe another US$500 to buy things! i mean that's not too bad!
