Hello peeps i am new to the infiniti fam just picked up a 08 M35x base model white with the beige interior and i was wondering if its alot of work or hard work to swap out the seats and door panels as i do not like that beige color? It's in mint condition i but prefer the black interior instead. I'd be willing to sell the beige interior cheap if this project does not turn out to be to hard.

Not many folks do this on this particular forum as it is a TON of work and logistics, your best bet is probably to look at a junk yard...but who knows, maybe you'll get lucky on here.

I just watched the Wheeler Dealer BMW Z1 episode and they had a similar problem.

They actually had all the leather interior dyed black from yellow. It was done by a specialist in the UK but it was very cheap compared to other options. I'm sure there are people like that in the US.

Yea I don't think I wanna dye anything. I wanted to swap colors but didn't wanna pay a arm and a leg to have someone do it specially if I'm gettina a decent deal on the interior.

I'd check ebay or local junkyards. What part of the country are you located? Craigslist in some places usually has a good selections of part outs too.Are you planning to swap the carpet, dash, headliner and the plastic trim pieces as well or just the seats and door panels? It

But to answer your question, it is not too difficult to swap them out. The only difficulty would be sourcing the parts. If you have the speakers in your seats, climate controlled seats etc.

Haha, you caught me mid-edit. Well, depends on your abilities but it's usually not difficult to replace Infiniti seats or door panels. Where are you located and do you have any of the special features on your seats?

Then that'll make it even easier. 4 bolts for each of the front seats, unclip wire harnesses and you are money. Might you have had a chance to download the factory service manual? Nicoclub has been kind enough to provide FSMs for every Nissan product I owned, and that might help you as you embark on your DIY journey.

Since you will need to replace the rear seats, you may want to look for the temp-controlled, reclining rear seats. My 09 has them and they are a nice touch. Another member in here upgraded his and found that all you need is the seats and the track they run on which is usually already attached to the seats. The car is already wired for it from the factory, just isn't hooked up if you have standard rear seats.
Also you probably should look for the lower and upper dash pieces, the carpet, and rear shelf. They should also be easy to switch out if you can find them in black.

In the center console there would be three switches for the Snow, rear shade and rear entertainment controls. Usually if it has the shade and entertainment controls then it has rear reclining seats. Also in the rear hand rest there will be buttons for heated seats and reclining controls.

Here is a video of an older q45 that the M35 reclining seat borrows from. From what I have seen, the M reclines by just as much, nothing too dramatic.

Are you referring to the Y50+?

Really? I've been around here a long time and I did not know this. I thought every M after 2006 it was standard.

You know, I might be wrong. That's usually the one thing I look out for in cars. However, I've seen a car advertised as a 2007 M45 that didn't have the factory knobs. Took me by surprise, like seeing a y34 without cooled seats. I didn't think too much of it though, I assumed those y50s originally sold in the outhern states didn't have the option, ya know, like every other manufacturer.

Where in NY? I may be interested in a few things if I don't have to bother with shipping. PM me your parts and prices. You say everything is mint right? How many miles on the car (not that it's a definitive indicator)?

Oh yea, we're good. A quick peek on Google says that for 07 the m35 had them standard but the m45 had them standard for the sports only. (Why Infiniti, why?)Or maybe some left over unheated seats slipped thru the cracks during production and ended up in a 2007 car. Or maybe the seller's ex chopped up his original seats in a fit of rage and the only replacements he could obtain came from a pre-07 M... the possibilities are endless

Either way, once you've had bun warmers AND coolers, it's hard to go back.

My general experience with people who want to wait to buy generally don't follow through unless it's something they REALLY have to save up for. Hell, even with me lol. And if its expensive, don't let something pop up within the next two months they deem more important lol. Anyway, I'm close so let me know.

I second that previous member, it is in fact easy to swap out for the base model, if you get surround sound seats I'm not sure you'll be able to hook those up but as far as swapping them out and door panels it's not hard at all...
also, ebay always has seats for sale but shipping might run high or they'll have local pick up as their only option! I've found some great seats in black and the bourbon in NY and FL but only local pick up :gotme so couldn't take advantage of the opportunity!!
