Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself since I am new member on this forum... although I have been an avid reader of the topics discussed on nicoclub.com for sometime now. I will be purchasing an 05 or 06 G35 coupe 6m/t in the next month here and I have a couple questions for you guys. I plan to keep this car NA and I am open to some suggestions as far as performance mods go that will get me some fair HP gains. I am very familiar with all Infiniti models since I have worked for Infiniti for 3 years now. But I have never looked into the performance aspects of the cars other than what I've helped customers with through the dealer. If there are any good websites with fair prices that I should check out please let me know.

If any of you ever have any questions for me even if it is as simple as what a fair price is from the dealer in the Sales or Service department feel free to ask.

Dan

Hi Dan...welcome to NICO!!

Tonnes and tonnes of info here on mods.

If your looking for mostly just bolt ons (to start )

Go with intake/Ztube combo and exhaust, then spacer and MREV, grounding wire kits, pulleys etc.. alot of people here purchase from Joe at everythingg35.com because of their competative pricing and service. We have a sticky FAQ at the top of the forum. Take a look at the Modification Database thread for ideas and info. After reading that, feel free to hit us up for opinions and further recommendations.

Again, welcome aboard!

Welcome to NICO

IMHO I think you are making a mistake with a coupe? Get the 6MT sedan. With all the hotties you are going to attract if you need to use the back seat it will be much more comfortable chasing her around in your G

The sedan is a much more practical vehicle as well as having the ability to rotate your tires. Faaget about mods. Not needed in my opinion. Put the $$$ into a 401k or IRA. You'll thank me in 25 years?

Just my $.02

You know when you have an angel on one shoulder and a little devil on your left... Telcoman is the angel and the one who will be that little sub concience in the back of your mind trying to constantly be practical.

I have 08 sedan 6MT. It is practical, yet fairly fast. Isn't sedans lighter than coupes? But coupes or sedans, you gotta love Skyline!!!

LOL

Just trying to give some of these young kids some practical advise. All they have to do is look around to see what is happening in this country and how the standard of living seems to be falling for most Americans. Although this is a forum for automobile enthusiasts, these twenty somethings are going to be my age before they realize it. They have time on their side and a few dollars set aside today can grow and compound into a sizable sum in 30 or 40 years when perhaps Social Security may either no longer be around or greatly reduced for them?

Yes I was their age a long time ago and pissed plently of money away that I now wish I hadn't. Overly spending on a vehicle is similar to overimproving a house in a particular neighborhood. It's almost like throwing money down a rathole. Although the G is a great vehicle it still depreciates and if a young inexperienced driver has the misfortune of an accident & totals a $$$$$ modded G where does that leave them financially? Just something for them to think about

Sorry for the rant!

True, but we can't take our money to the grave.

Spending smart is better than not spending at all.

Thanks "PaPa Telcoman" (j/k haha), I agree to an extent since I have had two vehicles in the past which I dumped a ton of money into and had zero return on the dollar (and in one case a blown up motor) but thats what I love about the G, its such a great car to begin with, that I really dont need to spend a ton of money. Although I'm sure everyone in this forum can relate with the fact that once you get the bug it is hard to get rid of.
