Last Monday, February 25th at 5:37 pm my son was born at 7 lbs. 12 oz at 20.5 inches long. He is me and my wife's first child and we are super excited. He is also the first grandchild on both sides, so we are already prepared for spoiling from grandparents, ha! His name is Mason Miller Burnside and he is freaking awesome.
We were hoping for natural, but 8 hours into labor, his heart rate would drop well below 100 for a few minutes during each contraction and she was only dilated to a 2. We decided a C-section would be best at that point and 30 minutes later, I was holding my little man. It completely changes my outlook on life and it seems now everything I want to do is for him. It has been a long, hard road full of pain and tears to get to this point, so I do not want to miss anything. I am working hard to get my car perfect so one day he can enjoy it also. We also are working on restoring my wife's 63 Chevy pickup that way we can enjoy that vehicle which was handed down from his great grandfather.
Good times seem to be coming, though I will not lie, it is hard work. Waking up every 2-3 hours to do feedings at night makes for a long day the next day at work. Anyways, just wanted to share my excitement! Thanks for viewing.
