New member need help default setting 2007 murano sl

Since my mechanic installed a new alternator, my outside and inside lights don't come on when I use my remote key. He tried to default reset, but when it came to resetting the lights, it didn't give him the option to turn them on. So, he coudn't do it. Please help.
