New member looking for 2023 Versa (manual trans)

Good morning. I just started working from home and want a reliable car to get me to the airport and do short local trips. Setting a budget of 20K or less out the door. Yearly mileage should be quite low. Hoping someone can please answer some questions for me:
1)Has anyone ordered a stick shift recently? How long did it take?
2)Did you get the S-plus package? 60/40 seats are nice.
3)Can you explain what kind door locking the car comes with? Hoping push button, though key option is nice.
4)Are the rear brakes drum or disc?
5)Has anyone explored mild performance upgrade to the car? The only cheap one I can see is a high flow air filter. I'm used to having a lot more power.
6)Have you done any of your own maintenance? How did it go?

Finding any 2023 Versa right now is tough. I've been curious to see one just to compare it to my 2019 and they are no where to be found. I've tried several different times at a couple of different Nissan dealerships in my local area and no luck. I understand that the keyless start/entry is only available on the SR which is the most expensive model. I also understand that the S plus package will add another $1,000 to the purchase price. I'm not personally sure that's worth the price as the Versa trunk is more than ample in size. I also understand that the gas mileage on the manual isn't as good as the gas mileage for the automatic. I've also been told that 2023 is the last year for the manual. I'm not sure what the rear brakes are on the 2023. The Nissan USA website section on the Versa might have that information. You're likely best to start talking to Nissan dealers in your local area to let them know that you want to buy a 2023 Versa manual and to see what Versa availability in your local area is. It should help if they know you're serious about buying a 2023 Versa.

Thank you. The dealer I visited didn't have any Versas in stock. He said when they arrive, there's 7-8 people waiting and sells out of them immediately. There are some within the 500 mile range. Going to put this on ice for a little while.

2023 is the last year for the manual so now is the time to buy. The 2024s will likely start coming in September so that means that production of the 2023 many end really soon.

1) We didn't order one, but we saw one was on the way to a local dealer. We went to talk to them and put a deposit down on it ($500) so we would have first choice for the car. It took almost 4 weeks to come in.
2) We just took what we could get our hands on. The only thing from the S+ I wish we had is the android auto.
3) The car came with power locks, but no keyless entry. There's a thread in the technical discussion about getting a fob for a 22 and having it programmed and it working. I'm waiting on having time to bring my car to the locksmith to have the fob I bought programmed.
4) Rear brakes are drum
5) It's an econobox, I'm not doing anything performance to it. I have other cars for that.
6) I haven't had to do anything yet, but I will likely be doing an oil change at 1000 miles this weekend.

Just did 1000 mile oil change and it was fairly straight forward. Car sits too low to get my jack under from the front, so had to pick it up from the side. Oil filter is easily accessible. Everything looks to be easily accessible underneath, so maintenance should be a cake walk.
