New Member Looking at first Pathfinder

Hello all -

My name is Scott and I am starting to look for a good used Pathfinder. I am located in upstate SC. I have found one I am interested in looking at at a local New Car dealer. It is a '99 XE 2WD. Has 147,000 miles.

I have not looked at it yet, but it is a local car (lived its whole life within 50 miles of me). BUT...two glaring things stick out. By Nissan dealer verification, it has not had the fuel filler or corrosion recalls performed.

Please advise as to the seriousness of this (e.g. should I not waste my time?). The service tech I spoke to on the phone at the Nissan dealership said that the corrosion recall was not generally a huge concern in the south.

Thoughts and advice please? I am looking for something in the $3-$4K range.

The corrosion recall is a significant factor, especially in salt states. Look in both wheel wells and tap them with a hammer to make sure there's no rust. If there's anything more than surface rust, run.
