I bought my first 240sx drift car early this year and love it. I've been kicking around ideas since I got it about different build ideas. I've thought about kat, sr20det, v8, rb, and jz. I decided on a na ka24de setup while I learn then go to turbo v8. I have read around on other forums writeups and etc about installing the itb I still have questions though. I have gsxr1000 throttle bodies do I hook up the injectors in the throttle bodies or just block them off? Do I have to go to a EDIS ignition? Can I have a stock ecu retuned to run without a maf? I know the ka isn't the best na engine but it'll give me power till can do my v8 next year when I have more free time from work.

Hi and welcome to NICO Club!

Congrats on your new ride. :bigthumb:

If your V8 swap is only a year away, then I don't recommend spending (wasting) much time and money on the current engine. You could be saving for the V8 bits, building the car to handle a V8 (suspension, brakes), or improving your driving skills with autoX and car control clinics. IMHO of course.

Maybe you just like to build engines, so the car and the driving don't matter as much. If so, that's cool too; proceed with tinkering! Here's a neat article about an NA build. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/natura ... 240sx.html Though I don't see them going the ITB route. Check our engines sub-category for some old threads maybe. I don't think MAF-less is an option with the factory ECU. Here's an old write-up article for ITB (the pictures are gone :gotme ) http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/instal ... a24de.html

I read both of those articles it's crazy how much he went through and how much he put into the ka to make 200hp. Thank you for the installing itb articles I've been reading it over multiple times. The main things I'm waiting now with my v8 is finishing the sump and oil pan I need new heads (the place I sent them to to get cleaned/rebuilt screwed me. They left them full of rust and large metal flakes.) Either a new aftermarket cam or just the reground stock it has already in it. I've fully rebuilt it just have to get my odds and ends pieces. I plan to make all my mounts and driveshaft for it (shouldn't be much of a problem I'm a fabricator at my father and uncles machine shop.)

What about itb and nitrous setup. Anybody have thoughts? Got offered as a trade for some spare parts I have left over.

The nitrous would be a better bang for the buck if you're just going for power. The ITBs are much more of a pain for not as much gain. Honestly, for that amount of work, you're better off just going turbo.
