Hey guys-I just want to introduce myself to the forum. I just purchased a 93 vert today. THe car is in decent shape and could use a little work. The car is unmodified and had a brand new top installed last year. I purchased the car for 1500.00. Everything is in working condition but it does have a cracked dash and a minor dent on the passanger door. The car has no rust but more importantly the car has never been flooded. ( I live in southern Louisiana) I am the third owner and this vehicle has never left my small city just north of New Orleans. I have major plans for this car. This is a new addition to my Nissan family. My kids are excited to have a convertible. Here are a few pics:

Welcome!

The car looks pretty clean from the pictures, and $1500 is a great price. What plans do you have for it?

More pics of the rx7??

Thanks!!

The car needs a good cleaning and has the typical problems of car that age ex: door panel inserts coming out and cracked dash. Overall it is in good condition. I plan spending the week changing all the fluids, belts and hoses. My first mode is going to be replacing the shocks and lowering the vehicle with new wheels. This car is going to be a beach cruiser for my family but the temptation to turbo the car is hard to over come. I have been out of the scene building cars beacuse of my family (wife and 2 young girls) but now that they are getting older I think this car is going to be the perfect project car for the family since the RX7 only has 2 seats.

As far as the RX7 goes, I purchased it in 93. It was my first car and can't get rid of it. I went through several rotary motors due to too much boost and decided to do the V8 swap about 5 years ago. I am in the process of parting out the Chevy V8 engine because I truely miss the turbo engine. The RX7 is on stand by and plans are either to put the rotary back in or LS1 T56. But the car is on hold because I want to build the 240 first. I love rear wheel drive vehicles.

I will post pics as progress is made.

Sounds to me like you've already made up your mind, and it's only a matter of time before it's turbo'd.

The whole turbo experience is amplified by 10X with the top down. I've never heard of one 240 vert owner who regrets going turbo after its all up and running properly.

I look forward to seeing where you go with this build. You'll find this forum to be extremely helpful throughout the build with its wealth of information.

Yeah I agree!! What makes it eaier is my wife loves the sound of the turbo spooling up and the blow off valve. I'm sure she is going to take the bait. I am finally financially able to build a car the way I want to. I am brand new to the 240's but I am not new to building vehicles. I built my first vehicle when I was 15. It was a convertible 1984 Datsun/Nissan 720 truck low rider. I am 34 years old but still loves building cars. I am excited to build this 240, it has alot of potential. I want this car to be clean.

I have a thing for FC. That's a gorgeous car. It definitely has aggressive bodyline than 240. I love to see 2 cool white cars together. Welcome to the forum and take good care of her.

Pics added for convenience...

The car has 150,000 miles just got finished changing all the belts, hoses and fluids. I am curentelly stripping the interior for a new dash and carpet. I am debating over what to do with the seats. I have a spare set of RX7 convertible seats, has anyone ordered the seat covers from leatherseats.com?

I've never heard anything about them...but if I may make a suggestion? Toss the S13 seats in the trash and get you some cloth S14 seats...you will thank me. Leather in a convertible = burned a$$ in the summer. They are very uncomfortable in hot muggy weather as well...get out of the car after a short ride and your back is soaked with sweat. S14 seats are cheap and easy to find...plus they are leaps and bounds more comfy then the S13 seats...oh yeah...and they bolt right up without modification. Hope this helps.

Here is a picture of my S14 seats.

Also, you burn up rotaries and miss the turbo....I think you should turbocharge a V8

It has been a while since I posted the initial pictures of the car. I have done quite a bit of work to the car. Most of my time has been on restoring the suspension and steering. I have replaced the struts and installed Eibach Prokit, energy suspension complete bushing kit, new rack and pinion and all new front rear lower ball joints. I also installed JDM side skirts and xenon front lip. I also spent alot of time fixing alot of the mino issues such as the interior lights, new dash and spent alot of time with a heat gun trying to starighten out the door panels. I recovered the inserts of the door panels which came out fairly decent, still not satisifed with them. The seat issue is also bothering me, debating on which seats to get or just have those recovered. I do want the front and rear seats to match. I have learned alot on this forum just don't have much time to post as much as I would like. Pictures attached.

Very nice!! Your Vert looks great! Get you some rear coupe valances and it will even look nicer ( like these - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories ). I've always liked SportMax 962's on a vert. Keep us updated.
