Hey everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I recently traded in my 3rd Lexus for my 3rd Infiniti. I was a loyal Lexus enthusiast for years, also a long-time member of ClubLexus. I like both car brands and have grown to like Infiniti more and more in the last few years. My first Infiniti was a 2009 G37 sedán which my wife and I both really liked until last year when we traded it in for a JX35 for my wife. My most recent car was a 2007 LS460 which is what I traded in for the 2015 Q70 3.7 AWD that I now drive. It’s black with graphite interior. I’ve only had it for about a week and a half but I’ve already acclimated well to the differences between it and my previous vehicle. I anticipate I’ll learn a lot on this forum and I hope I can be a helpful contributor. I’m a bit of diyer so hopefully that comes in handy. Cheers!

Welcome to NICO. This forum is great for DIY projects and general info to help us when something goes wrong. Our second Infiniti is a Q60 coupe that the lovely Mrs loves. I am too tall (6'3") to drive it comfortably, but it is lots of fun and handles great - even better now that we chucked the standard tires for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S-3's. Our cars really benefit from the "ultra high performance" class of tires. The difference in grip and handling is like night and day with the Pilot Sport tires.

Welcome. How does the Q70 compare to the LS, and what made you switch?

Honestly, they're completely different cars aimed at completely different audiences. The Q is a sporty/luxury car where as the LS is a land yacht. The craftsmanship is better on the LS like panel gaps and things like that but the quality of the materials is slightly better on the Q (at least compared to my version of the LS). They both have good sound systems (Mark Levinson vs. upgraded Bose). If I had to choose I'd be okay with either one. The reason I traded in the LS is because it was older (2007) and was requiring more costly maintenance. I would have considered a 2013+ LS but the ones in my price range had higher mileage so I didn't want to be in the same boat as before in a year or two. Also having experience with Infiniti helped steer me to the Q. My one major complaint about Infiniti is their engineering of their cars. Doing simple stuff like changing the in-cabin air filter is a chore. Overall, I'm very happy with the Q.
