Hi, I'm new to the forum. A couple of months ago, I let my wife shop for a "new" used car and she picked out a 2002 Infiniti QX4. Since we got it I've had to chase a couple of codes and replace the front O2 sensors, nothing big. I found this forum while researching the split resonator seam problem. A quick pass over the failed seam with a TIG torch solved that problem, but I did have to remove it from the vehicle because I was worried about stray currents and the multitude of electronics on the vehicle. Now the backlight in the Nav/Climate unit has gone out. Has anybody else out there had this problem? My research so far leads me to believe that the cheapest solution is to have a replacement CCFL lamp custom made. I've got an estimate of approx. $160 plus shipping, which so far is a lot cheaper than replacing the entire unit. The whole Nav/Climate unit goes for about $650 and up from the salvage yards and then you don't know what you are getting. If I do go the custom lamp route it has one benefit, the price is for 10 lamps. I can probably put them on ebay and try to recoup my investment. Can anybody out there tell me which Nissan years and models shared the Navtech Navigation unit that was available on the '02 QX4. I'm wondering how rare this particular touchscreen is.
