Hi everyone. My name is Dan. I just joined because I have some questions about Infiniti.
I currently have a 2015 Tahoe that I'm looking to trade in for the QX80. I drive about 48,000 miles a year and am looking for a car I can rely on and not be in the shop every month. My Tahoe is great and very comfortable but stupid stuff is starting to break that shouldn't like a window motor, door actuators, Brake booster and AC compressor etc...

I want to be able to have an SUV that I can put 200k miles on it with minimum repair costs.

What do you guys think of the QX80?
How does it drive?
Is it reliable?
Has anyone put over 200k miles on an Infiniti before and if so have you had any problems that I should worry about?

I am not very familiar with the Infiniti brand.

Thanks for the input guys.

Dan

Shame about your Tahoe. with the exception of the 2015 model year, they have been known to be generally reliable, at least for the first 3yrs. Difficult to say if the 2015 model year was an anomaly for the 'hoe or the beginning of a trend. As far as the new QX80, I suspect you'll love the way it drives, but it's not known for good reliability. Consumer Reports ranked them below average for reliability. If you're looking to put on that kinda serious mileage with minimal issues in a large luxury SUV, you might want to check out the Acura MDX, which has had consistently above average reliability, and it's V6 gets decent gas mileage. I have a friend with one. It's nice, comfortable, and roomier than you think. Another luxury SUV to consier is the Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX. Also above average reliability though they slurp significantly more gas than the Acura.

Enjoy.
