So I recently bought my first back in February a 1989 240sx that I always wanted bought it in good condition till I decided to change my ripped radiator hose and didint bleed out the coolant properly . Which led to my hoses in the back of my engine both ripped and I believe some under the manifold too. My thermostat also went out and my thermostat housing was really old and basically broke on me while I taking off . Replaced it and the bottom nut starting leaking right after I replaced figured cause I forgot to put a new gasket . Smart of me . Had to take it all off again and put a gasket . Still leaking . Gasket glue = no leak lol I problably have to replace the water pump soon too considering it looks like the car hasn't been touched other than new spark plugs . But currently need help getting behind the engine to fix a coolant leak both my hoses went out but I was able to get to one of them already but I can't get to other one and I also need help how to figure out which hoses are leaking under the intake . And my radiator is s*** so I have to buy a new one and I was always into fixing cars but never had one to do so I'm really new to it love to learn

Your best bet is probably removing the intake manifold to get to them.

And that is my problem my intake manifold I already loosened all the bolts all but I can't see to take it off because I a small green wire is going through a hole you can't get around I think unless you cut

Don't cut the green wire, it'll explode! Just kidding... about the explosion. But don't cut your wires. I don't know, but it could be the wire to your intake temperature sensor. All of the wires are useful, and they all either have a plug or a sensor on the ends, so you'll want to trace it back and unplug it or remove the sensor. Things get a little easier once all the bolts are off and the manifold can be shifted around. Also, consider replacing the front most and rear most studs with bolts where the intake goes to the engine head. It'll make your life easier. And, since you're in there and have a 26 year old car, just go ahead and replace all of the vacuum lines with similar hoses... maybe even the fuel lines as well. That rubber is getting old and it's pretty cheap. Just bring a few segments to the parts store to size them up to new hoses.

PS - there is a hose on the block from the PCV valve to the intake, a little tree, then from the tree to each of the four intake tubes is a hose. You might replace those with something that can handle oil. I think I used fuel line hoses. You'll never have access to them again, unless you take of the intake. Same for ease of access to your knock sensor, which is a cheap sensor, bit PITA to install without removing the intake. Also, when I mentioned easier access by shifting the intake around with the bolts off, I also mean having the upper separated from the lower. I think I got the top off first, then left the lower in there while working around it. Good luck and double check everything before putting it back together. You won't want to be doing it again like your thermostat gasket.

I currently have my radiator removed because 26 year old car the hoses connected to the intake are stilll in good condition and my main mission was the fix that leak behind the intake but I am gonna buy new bolts now considering mine look terrible thanks for tip I have to buy a new house to my thermostat even though I just replaced them February too . And I still have no clue how I can get enough space to replace a hose that's behind the engine that connects the car

Btw both my back engine heater hoses I believe went out I was able to fix one of them because I could reach it but the other connect deeper into the head and my arms aren't that long
