Hi,A little about myself before I start. Hrm, let's see, last sportscar I owned? 1989 Mustang LX 5.0L, which I ended up sellinglast year. The old page is still here: http://www.cubicdesign.com/mustang/

Anywho, I been wanting to buy a 240sx for some time now, andI just LOVE the 95+ coupes, unfortunately, my budget is a bittight, and so I won't be able to get one.

What I can afford are the pre-95 models, and speficically I havebeen looking at a couple of 1992-93 coupes with roughly136KM (85K miles) to 160KM (100K miles).

My questions are:

- How reliable are these cars?- Are there any major flaws I should look out for, when buyinga used 240sx with so many mileage?- What are the existing problems with this car that's fairly evident on any model?- Anything else I should know before making a purchase?

Dunno what else to ask.

Thanks,Bye!

First off. Use the search button. It will answer most every question you will ever have.

As for reliability, these cars are very reliable from what I have seen. The only issues that come to mind is that the timing chain seems to break around 200,000 miles (just replace it beforehand to avoid problems) and it has the old R12 A/C which you might want to upgrade to the newer version (forget number)...

Um, that's all I can think of at the moment... I am sure others will chime in with more info than a relative newbie like myself can offer.. oh and welcome to the community!:D

Hi and welcome to the boards.

In terms of reliability the kade motor is indistructible, nearly. As long as you check the timing chain, you will be fine.

There are no major flaws, just like any car though, check the transmission. The ka manual transmission has crappy synchros in them, but they won't break, they just grind a lil in performance applications. The electrical components are good in the car, and the suspension is great.

Hope this helps....any other questions???
