I actually had my mustache pieces painted dark slate at the same time that i had my stillen sideskirts/front lip painted, but the overlays actually match the color of the car really well, assuming you can put them on with minimal ripping or bubbles. and using plastidip to blackout the nissan burger as well as the emblems on the back of the car definitely add a subtle touch on a dark slate coupe
there are no holes on the emblems on the back, so you can debadge those with no problem; however on the front there will be holes since the grille is specifically designed to have the nissan burger on it.6EXYSIXER wrote:^^^ both those cars...
what is plastidip? im gonna look it up did it hold up well?
i was going to get matte vinyl to cover the chrome mustache piece because that would match the rest of it...
i wonder if matte would look better than gloss? any input
and as far as the emblems i think ill just remove them unless they have holes
the lights are actually really bright white they dont look yellow like in that picture it was late and lighting was off. when i put the overlays on though we will see how good it still is and then ill probably get a raptor kit from DDMdownedzephyr wrote:there are no holes on the emblems on the back, so you can debadge those with no problem; however on the front there will be holes since the grille is specifically designed to have the nissan burger on it.6EXYSIXER wrote:^^^ both those cars...

plastidip is a spray on rubber originally designed to add grip to tools so workers wouldnt drop them or they wouldn't slip, but it doubles nicely as a quick easy way to black out your emblems. and mine have held up pretty well, i'm coming up to 3/4 a year (i think) with them and i have no problems with them peeling.
also, a matte mustache overlay wouldn't really match, especially if you have the slate; kinda needs that little bit of shine to make it look like paint. look into bluebatmobile's overlays for the vinyls, i'm surprised he hasn't chimed in yet.
as another suggestion, perhaps look into HID's?
That's the stuff. It works really well and holds up for a long while.6EXYSIXER wrote:http://www.plastidip.com/downedzephyr wrote:sup noobert! you can take a look at my car if you want some modding ideas (i have some of the mods you're talking about, plus my coupe is the same color). btw, cheap fix to make the grille look better? 2 words for you dude: overlays, plastidip!
