new member to NICO. Happy to find the site! I use to turn wrenches 25 years ago for a living and still do most of the work on my cars. I own a 96 J30 with 133K and a 94 Q45T with 98K.

1st question for the board.

On my 94Q The TCS and Slip lights come on and stay on for a few days then go out for a few days. The TCS is off when the light is on and on with the light is off.

Is there possible a relay that needs to be replace?

TIA

Have you checked the TCS relay? Got FSM and TSB? http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/

This might be moved to Infiniti Online Mechanic, so keep an eye out.

Oh, and welcome to our board.

Holy crap Brian... you actually welcomed someone to the Q45 community in a way that was, well, welcoming. I didn't think you had it in you.

In any case, I just wanted to say welcome. I'm afraid I don't have anything valuable to contribute to answer the question, but I am sure someone here will.

Apparently my head was lodged in a space between my butt cheeks. My deepest apologies. I was under the impression that all of your NICO "welcomes" involved a screaming reference to the search button. Clearly I was mistaken.

Welcome, must have been good times 25 years ago when you worked on cars that had less electronics then a wristwatch. Those were the good old days...

Hey thanks. just saw your response. been away for a bit and still learning the best way to follow threads here. Wrenching was a bit easier 25years ago. I worked only on Hondas and acuras. ended up with my 94q because acura owners are crazy when it comes to selling. all have high mileage and high prices. They are good cars but not that good. bought my Q in 2003 with 50K for a mere 10K and the cost of a new set of tires. been very happy with it overall. i can only really complain about two items. the ergonomics are not the best and it has the biggest freeking blind spot. I guess that is because of the thick post between the drives door and rear door. After several instances of horn blowing and finger flipping I have learned to be extra careful when merging from the right lane to the left.

Really enjoy the board, thanks to all for welcoming aboard.

Get some of those convex stick on mirrors for your side-view and they will eliminate the blind spot. Also, as a brand, Acura has been around since 1986 in the US so you working on them 25+ years ago is improbable.

I started in the biz in 1981 left in 1988 went into the junk yard biz. left that in 1991 . short return to wrenching at that time@a honda/acura only shop. the shop I worked at from 81-88 only serviced Honda and MB we added acura when the legend was introduced in 86. I would only work on the honda and acura would not touch a MB. hope that clarifies my use of 25 years.
