Hello all!

This is my first post to NICOclub. From what I've read on the forums so far this looks like a great group of people.

On to the question...

My girlfriend has been looking for a new car and up to this point the main cars in the running have been an 07' Lexus IS250, and an 05.5'+ Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. We went to a local Carmax to check out a VW Taureg as well and ended up driving an 04' G35 coupe which she fell in love with. So, I've been searching for an Infiniti G35 coupe for my girlfriend and I've finally found a couple of promising cars. I wondered if they represent a decent buy or not.

04' Coupe AT5 - Dark Gray Exterior w/ Tan Leather Interior, BOSE, Navigation, Aero Pkg w/ 13,500 miles for $28,999

or

05' Coupe AT5 - Light Blue Exterior w/ Tan Leather Interior, BOSE, and Aero Pkg 14,500 miles for $29,999

Both cars are in great condition with no defects or problems that I could detect. Also, both cars sticker for well under the KBB values (the gray one is $2500 below, and the Blue one is suposedly $4,500 below KBB). G35 Coupes seem to be relatively plentiful in our area, but local dealers are asking at or above blue book value in most cases. So, as much as I hate Carmax these two cars represent a pretty good deal based on the other examples I've found locally.

What does everyone else think overall?

Welcome aboard!!!

Anytime you can get a G Coupe for below KBB, it's a good deal. They're holding firm, which is great for us Coupe owners.

Keep in mind the 6MT commands a premium over the 5AT on the REAL market, which KBB doesn't reflect...

That Lakeshore Slate is easily the nicest color for a G I've seen... (light blue).

Between the two, looks like a toss-up. If you have no desire for Nav, I'd go newer, simply for the extra warranty time, given that all else seems equal. Also, the 05 has more power.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm leaning towards the Blue one as well, I like the updated dash and console, plus the longer warranty period makes sense to me as well. My girlfriend however simply likes it because its blue....

Unfortunately we have to go with an automatic because she doesn't like to drive a manual car. My S4 is a manual and she won't touch it, nor would she drive my 87' 944 Turbo. Girls...go figure....

Have you checked with Modern Infiniti??

They have several nice coupes listed and I'm sure they will beat Carmax's prices. Their used cars online will show what they have across their network( several nissan and infiniti dealers). There was a 04 5at coupe up the street (Huntersville) with 29k miles for $25.5k. Not sure if they've sold it yet. I was thinking of trading my pathy in on it. Grey with black interior. We bought our 05 sedan from Modern Infiniti WS
