Hey everyone. Im Steve from NY. Just acquired a 93 J30t from my girlfriend (bought her a new car for Christmas). This thing is kinda beat but i like cars you never really see so I decided to keep it and have some fun with it. Its a little ruff so go easy on me. I will make update you guys with things i do. As of now my first big project is the hicas ball joints (BOTH!) and the drivers side front outer tie rod. This thing is all over the road. lol next will be the timing belt and water pump, then body work. all done by me.Couple pics

Welcome to Nico!

Changing the timing belt should be a high priority on this vehicle. The engine is an interference design. Should the timing belt break, the engine is essentially toast.

Hey Yoda, 30 degrees is downright balmy. It's -13 fahrenheit with sunshine up in my part of the world.

lol typical NY J30. That's not as bad compared to ones in the city. I've seen J30's with broken light housings, torn leather, mirrors smashed, and never washed.

The sunroof venturi's are clogged.

Open up your sunroof. Look at the front corners of the sunroof frame. There are holes on either side.

Get yourelf either canned air and blow gently into the holes to push out the obstruction or use weed whacker line. Be gentle. The venturi's get brittle with age.

well i didnt get a chance to clean the sunroof venturi's but i did fix my tension rod bushings by installing slightly modified 300zx polyurethane bushings. i forgot to take pics but i'll try to explain. The kit comes with 6 individual bushings. 3 per side. 2 outers and 1 hard inner. the circumference of the middle bushing was too large so i trimmed it down until it was big enough for me to tap it in with a hammer. then the outers, i just massaged them into place. the car feels 100 times better with these things fixed. mine were SHOT!

Suspension repairs are always my favorite. You can feel a difference right away after they're done. Glad yours is working better.
