Whats up fellas? I just wanted to introduce myself. Im new to the board as I am in the process of purchasing my first 240.

I cant even begin to express how happy I am with this purchase. Especially in central IL and small town areas....240sx's arent a common thing. The car Im purchasing is a 1998 240sx SE. It IS an automatic (I know I know.....) but the wife has to drive it sometimes AND I bracket race, and auto transmission is the only way to go in that respect. The car only has 44,000 miles on it. :D, and the previous owner already had the AEM intake on it. I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. LOL

I do have a couple questions if anybody could answer.

1- My wheels that are on my current car are a set of 18" Axis Speed Six wheels. (5x100 and 5x114.?) I know the lug pattern will fit the 240 but my question is.....is what about the width and offset. 18"x8" wheels (+35 offset) Tire-225/40/ZR18. Would these fit ok without rubbing anywhere?

2- The sunroof. I may be stupid here, but I cant seem to find the "sealed" position. I know one button controls both the slide and tilt option, but I cant seem to find the "middle ground" where its actually fully shut. (And the dealer Im buying from wont be able to show me because they're idiots.) So I thought Id ask you guys.

Anyway, just thought Id say whats up....thanks for any help.

Hey Brad,

Welcome to NICO! Congrats on your purchase. And btw, this is repo man on palmer's computer. I didn't want to mess with his settings.

As to your questions, the wheels will fit as far as an offset. The 240 bolt pattern is 5x114.3. It is a little unclear in your post whether you are saying the wheels are 5x100 or 114.3, but the 114.3 will fit.

As far as your sunroof, it should go into it's flush position when you close it. If it doesn't, then there may be a malfunction. Mess around with it some more and see what you come up with.

The intake, make sure the filter is clean. Check the throttle body and make sure it is clean as well.

Again, welcome! We hope you stick around.

Andy

Sup Repo Man....thanks for the welcome.

To answer your questions....

When I mentioned the two different sizes for the lug sizes, I just meant that my wheels are drilled for both. (basically saying I LUCKED OUT! WOOHOO!!)

As far as the sunroof goes.....I havent been back to the dealership yet to play with it. I know there was two buttons to mess with. The left button controlled the slide and tilt options, but I cant remember what the right button did? (Little help here?)

Ill definately clean the filter and check the TB. When I said Im not sure if its good thing or a bad thing that the AEM was on there, was because that obviously mean that a "tuner/gearhead" must have had the car before me. So maybe the car was run hard? Who knows? I did run the VIN through http://www.carfax.com and everything came out clean. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Thanks for the help bro,Brad
