Hey just got a salvaged black coupe 2.5s in late Feb. still on da works but hopefully it'll be done by May. I wanna show you guys pictures but dont know how to upload them from my pc. Basically i want ur guys opinion & advice, i was thinking of making my headlight look like antmo0730's or have fiberglass eyelids like toxik's. & i love how the Audi Style DRL LED strips look but dont kow where to get the matrial to do it. & i've been lookin for a Mesh Grille but can only find the billet grilles

agree. You gotta be extremely carefull buying salvage title vehicles. Might look good on the outside, but not soo good on the inside. Not worth all the hassle.

& its ok, my last car was salvaged to so im used to it. & Mechanically everything was fine except the radiator other than that most of the damage is bodywork

Theres so many aftermarket things I would have put in instead of just bringing it back to stock!

ya i know dats why i need ur guys help. I cant afford da stillen body kit so im just gonna end up getting the lips. & as for da headlights i got a good price for them so i just got those stock & hood. other than dat i wanna make it look real nice. its an automatic so i feel theres no point in putting a catback system but i will put a shortram intake

The hood and bumpers were my first point of attack... i wouldnt have gotten the factory ones, or the factory taillights!

But you are here now! Whats left to be replaced on the car? or is it already almost good to go??

i got oem hood cuz i was trying to get a carbon fiber one but it wouldve hurt just hurt my pockets. still gotta get front bumper, tail lights well really only need da left one, & grill, then it'll be done from da outside. The rest dats left is getting the airbags & expection & im on da road. The left rear rim is scraped so im tryna get new rims. but its still drivable so not to worried about dat now. But im tryna look fresh this summer

Just a lil bit under 4000. I think its 3964 if i remember correctly & i got it for $4500. Wish i couldve gotten the bodykit but $900 is to much for me right now with all da other stuff im already buying to fix dis car, but maybe in da future. Does anyone know where i can get a grill like antmo0730's?

I think the mesh part is paint black dats why it's not to visible. Where'd u get your grille vTechnique1x1 & for how much? I dont need the original OEM grille if i get that one right?

I owned four salvage vehicles in the past; two were floods, and I never had any problems with those cars. And no I'm not just lucky with car; I've had my share of stinkers.

Ya theres nothing wrong with salvaged cars as long as u know wut your working with & if u really think you can fix it right & not half a**'d. My car is almost done just painted everything cept the front & rear bumper all i gotta do now is save up money for the steering wheel airbag and the seat belts so it can finally be a car

I am confused though...it is like 300-400 for an aftermarket front bumper...but you went to stock to save money, how much are those? You find one of the front bumpers from a rear end colision or something?

Also, if you have the parts hookup from the salvage lots (aka, work there and have contacts at a lot of them) shoot me an e-mail (click my user name and it will be there) I have some stuff I will pay you to find for me, haha.

your definition of TOTALLED is like... ARE YOU SERIOUS back here in mexico.

in fact, some guys who have the money, thats what they do, they buy the totalled cars from USA, bring them back to mexico and they either sell the parts, which in most cases they make like 3 times more money than they spent on buying the car, or just repair it and sell it, illegaly, but thats what they do, and really, its not as much damage as a totalled car here in mexico. its crazy LOL

Some people do that here in the States also, it is just buying in bulk. The reason you can get the cars cheap is because people don't want to deal with the hassle and the money that gets tied up. That is what the Junk Yards do, by partially or completely smashed cars and part them out.

Personally, I would LOVE to do what you are doing. It has always been a dream of mine. Where did you start to look for one to snag it for <5Gs and how much to you expect it to cost you once all is said and done? $10,000?

Dont work for a salvaged place i actual work at an autobody shop. The place where i got the car from is through connect through connect you know i knew somebody who knew somebody who knew somebody so cant really help you out Curtieson. I got the front bumper OEM for bout 150 and bought a used rear for 135 on ebay which beats the price for a body kit that i want. So far i've put a G in da front and a bout 800 in da back. airbag so far have been 600 but i still need da front and da seatbelts. I wish i could go all out & spend the money on all aftermarket parts, but its not like i bought a 92' civic. I just finally wanted a new car that i think i deserve, ya money is a lil tight so cant really do what i want with da car but @least im gonna have it for a lot lot lot more cheaper then buyin it at the dealer & still look brand new. I actual put on this nice color on the other day. My car looks black but in the sunlight its red, kinda of like the nighthawk black Acura color but red
