hey all, been lurking for a couple years but since im getting real close to my swap and i plan on documenting it in here, thought id post.

I drive a 93 vert stock (lowered). no rust (rare find in PA) several dings and has been keyed down the drivers side (x g/f's handy work) top needs some tlc but its not to bad. interior is frustrating but i hope to remedy that soon

+UPDATE+

whelp the KA dropped a duece and its off the road but i did get a couple camera pics before this @#$% happened...

upgrades since may...

5 speed swap silver 16x8 +0 sportmax 501's new K&N filter blown motor* (technically not an upgrade)

anyway still looking at my options, i may even sell it or trade it if someone offers the right price/car.

thanks-

thanks, its got its fair share of imperfections though, I guess the simple answer is im lazy- haha.

no, ive probably looked at every kind of combination (besides v8's) in the last 6 months in preperation for the summer. rb and sr's were just more money then i was willing to spend on this car

I actually thought about KA-t alot since i almost went that route with my d16z6 civic. it is cheap, but scrounging up all the parts and then getting them to work together and custom fabricating and tunning was just more than i wanted to bight off for my daily driver. also at 135k i didnt want to push my luck.

anyway, the ca18 has got some pep, it has lower milage than my KA, came with the 5 speed, and is a pretty simple install. and all for under 2k

oh i forgot to add lsd to my plans as well

Nice car, I really like that color, but couldn't find one other than a 68k one for $7k.

The one main draw back with the S13 'verts is the interior and how it holds up (or doesn't, more accurately). Luckily, several members here have gone about re-habbing them and there's lots of helpful "How To's" on NICO .

**UPDATE**

Alot has happened over the last few months

1.new wheels and tires- sportmax 501's 16x8 +0 offset wrapped in perrelis

2. ditched ca swap for just a 5 speed swap (save $$)

3. Ran 5 speed for exactly 5 days and then put a piston/rod through the side of the block (^&*$!!)

I had been hearing a slight clatter from the front of the head the last month or so and chalked it up to the chain guides. that turned out to be an expensive assumption

why i heard noise from the head and yet the block is the one that blows up im not sure. if someone with more experiance/knowledge could enlighten me please do. also could changing the transmission have caused this? sped up the inevitable? or just a very frustrating coincidence?

blah anyway, im at a crossroads. I can either buy a new car or buy a swap for this one and I have exactly 5k to play with. i guess im asking for suggestions. this much i know -all 240's i seem to come accross in the philidelphia area(ebay/autotrader) are 1 of 3 things. 1.beat 2.asking wayyyy to much 3. 15 foot wing on back and unpainted body kit. there isnt much of a selection.

as for the swap- anyone know of any shops in the phildelphia area? after yesterday im not too enthusastic about installing it myself

anyone selling a clean s13/s14 within 150 miles or so of philly?

Can't believe a semi-local vert slipped beneath my notice. Absolutely love the color on it.

Anyways, I think 5k should be plenty to have someone swap in an SR or CA. Maybe even some RB varient. You can pretty much order an engine and not have too much trouble having it delivered. One question though, are you in Wyalusing (NW of Scranton/Wilkes) or Philly?

long story short i have been living in west pittston while im not at school in kutztown but i was actually on my way to stay at my bros place (philly) for a week when this #$%^ happened so now im stuck here in philly lol

i have seen 2 other verts in scranton area both were black and both stock looking but one was about 1 winter away from falling apart, the other looked clean. where abouts in scranton are u?

yea honestly that is what i would like to happen but i dont know of any shops in this area, or in any area for that matter that would do a swap. You know of any up that way? When i was looking around for a place to make me a custom driveshaft every one of them gave me the look "why are you doing this to a jap car" lol

I've heard of one black vert getting transmission work done in Scranton, but never that second one. I'm currently about 20 minutes east of Scranton on I84, but when school starts I'm moving into the Moosic/Montage Mountain area.

I was asking where you were because there is a guy up in Kingston with experience with 240s and does SR swaps. Has a yellow hatch pushing 700 rwhp too So, I dunno, sounds like your cars way the hell down there.

Guide snaps off, lodges in timing chain, stuff starts crashing together.

Sorry you're stuck in the city of brotherly hate. I don't know (or care about) any shops there, but powerzamcam in NJ is reportedly a good shop. They drift verts, so they obviously know what they are doing.

i emailed powerzamcam but no response yet, from their site though it seems like they know what they are doing and the prices aint bad either. but that will have to wait i guess till next year, right now i need wheels asap so if anyone has something or knows somone with anything clean (not nessacarily 240) for 4k or under im all ears

yo - wassup Phans. I know the guys from PZC - try hitting up George directly (he is on this forum as DukeBoy).

If George doesn't give you a response, ask for Sal. I think his name is Otaku64.

If all else fails - they can't say I didn't try - then call my buddy Nick at AutoExtreme. He did my swap and we have been friends for years now (see my signature).

PS: And come out to one of our Club Loose Events dammit - I wanna see you drift that Vert at E-Town with us.

Front parking lot - I think gate 1? or 2? I always forget. Drifting, every last wed of the month (you just missed one). From 5-10pm usually.

Sponsored by Club Loose. It's nice. E-town is the home of east coast drifting and the local guys are all cool. Alot of the guys went on to pro stuff (JR, Forsberg...etc).
