Car: 2011 Altima Coupe SR 3.5 CVT

Post

What's up everyone? I picked up a 2011 3.5 SR CVT about a week ago and thought it was time to introduce myself to the forum. The car isn't perfect, but I wasn't expecting it to be for the price I got it at. I had my mind set on getting an HR 350Z before I discovered this gem on eBay which saved me a ton of money over the 350, so I have a decent budget for mods :chuckle:
Mechanically it's very sound, there are just a number of mainly aesthetic imperfections. I have some experience working on cars but I have never upgraded the performance on any of mine, this one will be the first and I'm pretty hyped about it! I plan to drive it stock for about a month before I start taking it apart, so I'm just building a list of mods intend to put on the car. Before winter I would like to put on Borla's 11762 Exhaust, Racingline Y-Pipe, and the K&N 69-7062TTK 69 Series Black Typhoon Intake. Any thoughts/input would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Sorry for the two fuzzy pics, they're all I had on hand at the time!

I currently have the borla axel back and injen short ram on my coupe. Imo the exhaust it sounds amazing and I love the little crackle it makes when you let off the gas. Also at idle its almost silent. If your looking to and squeeze every bit of hp out of your car also look into custom pipping for the mid section to make the borla a catback, consider a uprev or bullydog tune, and a stillen underdive pulley. Just beware of the side affects that may come with a underdrive pulley. Also, not sure how much the CVT can handle, but I think you are likely be fine with full boltons.

Looks good, welcome.

I'd start with aesthetics then do bolt ons and a tune and call it a day.

Thanks for the input gents! I installed the K&N Intake and Borla Axle-Back a few hundred miles ago, loving the combo so far! :mike I ordered my Y-Pipe a few weeks ago, but Racingline ran out of stock right when my order was processed so hopefully it'll be here in a couple weeks. Really looking forward to hearing how the exhaust sounds once I get that installed!

I'll be ordering a strut tower brace and rear sway bar, both from Racingline, within a week as well. Aesthetics are next though! I've cleaned up a lot of the imperfections that the car came with, but the body shop that fixed the car after its fender bender got a little rambunctious and I have swirl marks all the way down the sides of the car so I guess I'll have to invest in a dual action buffer or something of the sort to get that taken care of...
I'm going to dig around the forum for a while to find anything I might want to throw on the car but since I don't plan on getting rims/coilovers/maybe a brake kit til after winter I'm just going to PlastiDip the stock 18s matte black with a slight bronze coating on top and paint the calipers red within a week. Hopefully it looks alright since I'll still be on stock ride height!

Thoughts and suggestions are still appreciated! I'm happy to be a part of the forum :bigthumb:
