Car: 89' nissan 240sx s13 hatch sr20det swap

Post

hey guys im new to the nissan community, i bought a 89' 240sx s13 hatch with an sr20det already in it. when i bought the car it had bogging issues, by the boggin i mean first gear works fine i can shoot up right up 7rpm no problem but when i shift to gears 2-5 the rpm is cut off at 3rpm by a bogging. the bogging sounds like the car wanting to shut off and like a choking feeling. I changed the plugs and one nite it just went away on it own. i was shocked and relieved it was running fine for a week then i decided to put a fmic, koyo radiator, stage 3 clutch and flywheel and the car was running strong everything good and last nite as im driving home the bogging jus came up again. ...i noticed when my car has this bogging issue the emergency brake light stays on.. im in serious need of help this is my daily driver and i cant afford to put it back in the shop any ideas?

p.s im new to the forum idk if i put this question in the correct spot im really into the nissan thing and want to learn more considering im a noob

WelcomeTo start I hope when you say 7RPM you really mean 7,000 RPM. Most Tachs just show 1-7 but ir really is 1,000 to 7,000.

I would start with the Brake light. How is your Power Brake Booster? Bad vacum can cause your problem and also show up as a Brake problem (therfore the light).

Try looking at that and let us know.
