Well Fellas,I have finally put on my Maxima GLE wheels, and the car looks stunning with them. I credit CJ (Member's Ride Section) for inspiration on this latest move. I am really enjoying the new wheels riding on Pirelli P6 All-Season 225-55-17 tires. Tell me what you think (positive comments only) j/k.

Thanks Wes! I agree, the wheels really complement the design of the car. Plus polished aluminum adds a bit of class to the car too. Thanks again and Happy Holiday weekend.

Do you still have the Nissan centercaps?

If so, I would try to install Infiniti center caps to finish off the look.

I didn't like those wheels at all on the Maxima, but they look great on the Q.

Yeah I was thinking about doing that but I am die-hard Nissan fan. My mother had a Datsun 510 stationwagon for 12 years and 365,000 miles (drove to junk yard), and a 94 Altima with 270,000 miles (all original), brother has 1990 Z32 w/ 66,000 miles + had 85 Nissan Maxima SE (was destroyed in radiator shop fire), and I have 2 Q45s. I am pretty proud of wearing the nissan badge because I grew up with it exclusively. Thanks for the suggestion, but I really want to keep them on as-is. If I change my mind, what size center caps would I be looking for? Did the centercaps come on the Y33 wheels? thanks again for the suggestion.

Thanks M.O.D.. I agree that they look better on the Q than on the Maxima. My next big move is to get a Maxima like the one in your sig. i always loved that body style. Thanks again.

I think the center caps from the Y33. G35, etc will fit them...

I really like 'em, EQwhip. Congrats. I'll be looking for a set for mine next year when my 15" tires wear out.

Yes, yes, yes. They look great. I am looking to do the same thing. Where did you get your wheels.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys! I got the wheels off of a guy from local craigslist for an incredibly low price. Ebay has them but you will pay at least $700 by the time it is shipped, and then the tire quality is suspect or insufficient for the Q45 load. Daegrigg, since you are in Bethesda, I would look on car-part.com to see if you can find some in the mid-atlantic region, and search for 02-03 Maxima GLE 17" 7 spoke, 7 inch wide. I drove about 300 miles this weekend to get a feel for them and the ride nice. The Pirelli P6 All-Season are a little louder than my last tires, but they ride firm and have 97 load rating.

regards,Evan

looks great. those are 02-03 max? i also like the 05-06 max, also 7-spoke, slightly different though i believe. i can't decide between 7 spoke max/05-06 g35 sedan or these 8 spoke 17s (2005 Q45) on ebay.

how do the 'taller' tires suit you? notice more lag out of the hole?

GQJay,I was thinking about getting the newer Maxima wheels, but I personally feel that the angles are too sharp to correspond with or complement the G50s lines. I like the G35 coupe choice because the soft curvature of the wheel really goes well with the G50 design like that I believe of CrimsonQ (?).As for the taller sidewall, I am completely comfortable with having 55-series sidewalls. To me it is stylish enough to be on the verge of low-profile, without the compromise of comfort. My other Q is running 40-series sidewalls on the tires, and there is a very noticeable difference in ride quality between the two. I was going to get 225-50-17's but I didnt because most of the load ratings were maxing out at 94, and I wanted to go with at least a 95 load rating. My only complaint is that the Pirelli P6 tire is louder than my last tire set (Hankook Ventus). Overall, I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my tire selection.Lastly, if you are looking for OEM wheels, don't forget about the 18-inch wheels that came with the 03-04 FX35. I've seen those on a Black G50T hre in town, and they look really good on the car!

When ever you buy takeoff wheels be sure you test them for balance and radial/axial runout. The dealerships replace many wheels which are out of spec in an effort to solve owners compliants...............these end up not being trashed/crushed per factory requirements but resold from their junk pile and where do they end up but on Inet auctions.
