Well...I'm now a Maxima owner. Its a 1992 Nissan Maxima, 160,000 miles roughly but its in great condition. Light metallic blue sorta, but it has a tan hood, bumper, and left fender. My uncle bought it wrecked, cause it was uber-clean and I'm bought it off of him.

I really want to do some performance upgrades to it but I've been having some trouble finding any good parts. Could any of you give me a couple links for some sites that would handle those? Or are there not many parts for the 3rd gen maxima engines?

I'm really looking to keep it sleeper for a while but while your at it...if you know any good exterior body mod places that would be cool too...The only one I really could find was one a Stillen.com (which I did really like cause it wasn't a full body kit...just like a lip all the way around...looked good to me anyway...)

But anyway I know I'm asking alot but I'm sorta new to the maxima's. I tried to search the forums but I couldn't find anything but if this is any type of repost sry in advance guys...but anyway thanks alot for your help.

If you want to go all out you could always add a turbo.http://nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=158463

yea i checked them out already...what im really looking for is a nice catback exhaust and intake for starters....the only one they have on there is a greddy sp and thats a little pricey for me.

I was reading that turbo article earlier and was really interested in it...it is definately a possibility...lol...with enough time/money that is...

Actually, there was a type-o on the maxima page. Both engines for '92 were VG. The SE had the VG30DE vs. VG30E

You had it right the first time, Matt. 92 SEs had the VE.The Maxima never got the VG30DE.

PBfrEAk, from a fellow 3rd gen owner: WELCOME!You'll love the car. If your car is indeed an SE, Stillen made a supercharger for it a while back. Not sure how easy it'd be to find one now, though.

The J30 is a VERY capable chassis. Get some good suspension, decent tires, and you'll have quite a fun toy. Personally, with the motor making 190 ft lb stock, I'd focus on suspension and tires before I'd worry about power mods.

You'll also have an LSD if your car is an SE. If you're not sure, look at the door handles and trunk. SE has a trunk spoiler. GXE has a keypad in the doorhandles. SE will also have smoked tail lights on a 92.

There aren't a lot of body mods available. I've seen a couple I liked, though.Sarona makes these two that are actually pretty decent--though I'm not a big fan of the louvered rear bumper on the first one.

Thanks to all who replied...

Minister...Thanks for the welcome!

Im already enjoying the car. It has alot more power than I expected from a stock car. So I think im going to go with what you suggested...suspension and tires...do you have any preferences or know of any brands that worked better than others?

My cars definately a GXE cause it has the keypad entry...do you know how to reset those at all?

At least at 1st, I wanted to keep it sorta sleeper-like...but I do like the second one of those two...I also liked the one made by stillen...its not as flashy...its simple and it looks good.

Well thanks for all your help.
