I like them, but would I buy one? Probably not. They just look too big for me to really want one. The one that I had been driving is a 2002 and it is almost too big for me I have decided. I am looking forward to the mid generation facelift though. I usually like those much better than the originals.

As of now I'm not a fan of the new Max. If it's growing on me, it's doing it at a slug like pace. The sunroof and extended console concepts are cool and refreshing, but the exterior styling...is leaving me with much to be desired.

I have driven several of them...i am very impresed with the throttle response, very very quick off the line, style for me i gotta say...blah. not for me i guess i preffer the old A33 body style over the new A34.it looks to much like the altima. the maxi is suppose to be the flagship of nissans fleet and stand out from the rest. it just looks to cheap inside. if any one buys one be very careful around the center consule it scratchs quite easily.

I don't really like the car at all. I have a friend I go to school with that just bought one, haven't ridden in it, so that may change my mind, but based on appearance only, I'm not a fan.

i must admit i hated hte appearance at first, but once u get used to them, they quickly grow on you, that shiny silver grill is a turn off, but i must admit, it looks good on the silver and black maximas, and gotta love those 18' Z wheels and 6spd

the trans that is in the maxi is the same trans used in the avalon. the max was slated to get a cvt (like the murano) but it fell through in design stage and this was the alternative

the manual trans is still nissan. the auto has mods to it to operate in conjunction with the cars configuration so no toyota would not be able to help you with it.

o, thanks for the info bro, i guess i just never figured a flagship like the maxima would use a tranny from one of its major competitors, still dont think it makes a hell of a lot of sense on nissans' part, but i doubt many will know anyway, i know the altima's (well atleast the 3.5se's) tranny gets much praise, even in auto form, is this the tranny shared with the 'older' or 'newer' maxima's? and is it a nissan, sorry for all the questions man, i hope im not overwhelmin you

nah no sweat man. no the A34 maxi is the only one with this trans the older maxi had the nissan trans in it. the altima trans is pure nissan as well. the old maxi trans was decided to be cut from the new maxi during the design phase and the new trans was to be the cvt same as murano. but the idea fell through later in the design phase and this new trans was thier final decision. now how the hell they came to that decision is unknown to me. but i guess research showed it to be reliable. but i wouldnt be a bit suprised if in the next couple model yrs they get the cvt incorperated into the design.

I'm surprised Nissan isn't having a problem selling them. The Altima and G35 Sedan...hell, the 350Z and G35 Coupe, all come so close to it's asking price.

The only benefits I see are larger package over the Altima (and much nicer interior) and FWD is friendly for the snow belt.

I parked next to one a couple of weeks ago. That thing made my '02 look small. Definately more roomy inside, but I don't like the dash layout.

Oh well, it's slower than the '02-03's, that's gotta count for something ;)

I think they are just too big. The 02 I have now is almost too big for me.

I can live with the changes. The back end has already grown on me to the point that I kinda like it. I still don't like the grille and light pods, not the dash. But, I'm sure I will get used to those too. But, I thought my '02 was big. The new one looks huge!

Oh well. I won't buy a Max again anyway. Next purchase will be an Infiniti....
