'92 Q, appx. 220K miles...... I had bad stumbling/stalling last summer and consult had MAF codes, so I replaced the MAF Aug. 2005 (installed it myself, part from scottsdale). Problems completely cleared up with new MAF installed.

In the last 2 weeks I've noticed the same stalling again, but only on cold starts and 2-3 mins after start up at most. It's a very sudden and brief loss of power, so it's got to be electrical and not fuel related. (Fuel pump & FPCU were replaced July 2005).

The MAF connector/terminals (+ ground) were replaced March 2000, soon after I bought the car.

Is there something simple I can do to clean the connector? If so, what type of cleaner should I use (and where can I find it). Would di-electric grease (sp?) help with this type of connector?

Dennis: is Tommy still working at Decatur location? I know you said S. Cobb is very busy. Still busy? Or was it just a pre-easter rush?

Will it act up if you wiggle the connector? I like to tighten the connector by inserting an old dental pick behind the break in the female connector pins, pushing that side inward just a bit... too much and it won't plug in any more.

Texasoil is a big fan of something called Stabilant 22. I'll see if I can find the thread...

Thanks!

Heath

I'll play with the connector and see what happens. Is there a simple cleaner I can get at radio shack?

I got tuner cleaner before and used it for window switches, stereo, etc. (but used it all up).

Hard to isolate since it only happens once or twice a day at most.

I used radio shack electrical contact cleaner about 10 days ago and it's been fine, also took a road trip with BG44K in the tank, always make her happy......
