I figured I would introduce myself and try to address a few of my questions in the process.

On the 2nd I put a down payment on an 03 M45 Brilliant Silver with Graphite leather and all the option packages. Probably won't pick it up until the 21st but that isn't a big deal to me. I did have a few things I have been wondering so I figured I would ask, mostly about mods.

Are there any vendors that have mods (exaust, brakes stuff like that) for these cars? I know there weren't that many sold 2003-2004MY M45's) so maybe stuff would have to be JDM imports?

Wheels - What is the offset of the stock wheels? How large or small can you go on these cars without rubbing and obviously being able to clear the brakes (on the small side).Speaking of brakes - It appears that warped rotors apppear to be a somewhat common problem with the OE brakes, is this correct? Are there any higher quality rotors/pads that fit? I am not so much concerned with getting a "big brake kit" as possibly just upgrading the pads and rotors to something a little bit better.

Thanks in advance, I look forward for being here for quite awhile

-Pete

Pete, welcome!

I think the 03 & 04 M's are the sexiest Infiniti's made. I want to see pictures when you get it. I personally think the factory 18" wheels on the M are sweet. Especially, if they are chrome. I definitely want your factory ones, if you decide to pugrade.

Evie and I went to Crown this afternoon, to drool over the new M45's. They have an N45 Sport, M35 Sport and a couple others in stock. I like the new 19" wheels on the sport. Maybe those would be sweet on your M.

Common on most infiniti as they dont make their brakes tough enough for such heavy cars....

If I get an upgrade I will probably keep the 18" factory rims for snow tires (yes I am going to drive it in the snow), they aren't the chrome finish, which is fine with me.

I have seen a few sets of the 19" from the New M on ebay, they are forged and look pretty good, definitely a better value than aftermarket methinks, although I am still up in the air on what I want to do.

I believe the Enkei USDM Y50 Sport wheels are cast. The forged Rays wheels are JDM only. It's in a previous post.

Welcome to our club. There is a great post of a guy who put 19" TE37 on his Y34, but it wasn't that easy, but doable.

Unfortunately the ebay auction I looked at before is closed. I suppose the guy could have pulled a fast one but they looked like the 19" Y50 Sport wheels. And definitely had "forged" and "rays" on them.

Funny they don't have a stamp that says forged. Most Ray's are, though.

Tires are useless on a Q or M.

You can see it in the lip of the closest one "FORGED" is stamped in there

Indeed..

AFter doing my research if I wasnt worried about "bling bling" or anything like that, id most likely just stick with the stock Q45 BBS wheels...

IF ONLY they made them in a 16, that would have made life so much easier

Oh yeah, on the riser above the lip.

Worth very dime since they are hubcentric.

4 of the rears would be best.

If you all think these wheels were expensive, wait till you tried to buy 19" tires worthy of a Q or M! Ouch!
