Just bought an M35 last month. It is a brand new 2008. At times I think I should have gotten the 2009 model, since it has the 303 hp motor with the 7 speed trany, but I got a good deal on mine. I also added the GAP insurance and the maintenance package. The M35 is the "standard" version: no Nav, no Sport, No AWD. To be honest, I have only driven the car 150 miles so far: to STILLEN to add their exhaust and an Injen CAI. I have not pushed the car to its limits, since it is not properly broken in yet (1400-1500 miles is the break in period)... I don't drive it at all, I have my 06 G35 sedan as a daily driver. I also purchased 20 inch FX wheels that I am going to install next month (waiting for the tires). I will post the pictures of the car then. My other mods I am considering are lowering springs now and coilovers in 3-4 years (once the factory struts go to waste). I still have to talk to STILLEN about fitting their supercharger they made for the G35 and the FX35. I am also going to install the front and rear sway bars once I drop it.Anyways, I wanted to give my 2 cents on the M's...I love the M. I like the subtle changes made to the car in 2008, namely the front and rear body changes. I like the smaller taillights, and I really like the front bumper cover from the 2008-09 sport model which I am also purchasing. I also think that the interior looks great and is very spacious. I was also looking at a Mercedes E350, but the M is A LOT BIGGER inside. Now, my problems...the first morning after i took the car home, I noticed that the "wood" trim on the door bubbled up (i always thought it is a solid wood, not just a wood overlay!!!). In addition to that, i also noticed the steering issue that many of the Infiniti M owners have experienced. So the car is now at the dealership, I took it there on Saturday and they are looking at these issues. I hope to get the car back soon. Other than that, no other problems, but too early to say. The dealer was nice: took the car in, surprised at the problems, especially at the "wood" issue, and gave me a rental car. They said they never seen the wood trim bubble up before, this is their first. Not sure if I believe that, but whatever makes them happy...as long as they fix the car the way it is suppose to be, then I am OK. If not, California law states that if the vehicle problems have not been taken care of within 30 day and if the vehicle is in the shop for 30 days, they have to take the car back or replace it with another one. I hope it does not come down to that...Another problem with the 2008-2009 model? No aftermarket body kits at all. There are plenty for the 2006-2007, but nothing at all for the 2008-2009. I guess I have to wait and see...So far, I am going to replace the bumpers with the ones from the 2008-09 sport models, I like to much better. Finally, a little FYI for all of you. The dealer gave me the G37 Sedan as a loaner. I have a G35 sedan and the M35 sedan. The best one of all to me? My 2006 G35 Sedan (maybe because I am so used to it) . The interior is not as nice as it is on the M35, but I like it better than the G37, feels more spacious. It is a bit faster than the M35 (not completely sure yet, I'll let you know once I break in the M), and a bit slower that the G37. It handles a bit better than the M, and a bit worse than the G37. Brakes an all three? Horrible!!! These are my impressions so far. We'll see what happens once the M is properly broken in and i get used to it a bit more.

Welcome to NICO!

Sorry to hear about the problems you have had with it ... I hope they are resolved soon.

And, yes, please do post pictures and your driving impressions later.

In terms of breaking-in, contrary to what you might hear from other sources, I am of the opinion that the engine rings needs to be seated well and the walls need to be burnished farther than "babying the engine" operation. Means decent amount of WOT's (occasional, of course) to accelerate the pistons and debur (both rings and the cylinder machining) higher up in the cylinder chamber than you might otherwise see with babying during "break-in". Also do a few early oil changes (as soon as a few hundred miles for the first one), etc.

Thanks for the advice . Anyways, I am getting a bit worried after reading all the posts on the alignment issues. Steering rack, tires, alignment, etc...it seems that this is a common problem on the M's! Infiniti better fix this, or I am talking to a lawyer about a $55K car having steering problems. This is NOT AN INFINITI issue, this is an M issue. My G35 tracks like it is on rails!I am not concerned about the interior trim as much, but I have to tell you all, it worries me that a luxury, high cost vehicle has so many problems at once...Make it worst, it is BRAND NEW!!!I feel a bit disappointed. After reading all the reviews and the raves about this ride, this was going to be my dream car.I am not giving up on this ride, I know Infinities and they are great. And I know the M is suppose to be the top-of-the-line Infiniti, so I am going to let the service department at my dealership delight me with their service...Let's see what happens...I'll let you know.

Yes, all cars tend to have some problems or the other. Please do keep in mind that the problems tend to get noted here, and discussed more, than all the good stuff about the car.

Statistically, these problems tend to occur to fewer people than you might think just from reading the threads in here.

Which is not to say that you will not have some problem or the other that is discussed here, but that not all problems will happen to all people.

Yes, I understand that...The dealer called me today to tell me that the car is "finished". They said I can come and pick it up: they changed the interior "wood" pieces. Then he said they checked the alignment, tire pressure, etc, and everything is fine. My reply? No, it is not fine because it pulls and jumps around on uneven surfaces. I told him not to call me again until the car is fixed. He said he will look into it.
