New M's- Compact Flash will not download music- HOW DUMB is Infiniit>

Was at the dealer yesterday considering a new M35 as my FX is out of lease in January.I noticed the new TEchnology Package has a slot for a Compact Flash... HOwever, I was told it is only for saving info from your cars hard drive. The onboard hard drive will record ONLY from CD's. One cannot import music from another source. How dumb is this?In the Fatherland, Japan, where they are not shackled by lawyer's, I'll bet they can download mp3's and .wms's from a Compact Flash.What is the deal here in the US?
