Pretty similar lines from the A to C pillars:

If you notice closely, the Infinti C pillar incorporates the 3rd window, whereas in the GS, it is included in the door glass.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the new GS is a Lexus ripoff of a G35 with a Maxima rear end?

I totally agree. I don't know why infiniti killed off the J in the first place. I always loved the classy, timeless look.

They definitely look very similar. Fortunately Infiniti came out with the M first. Unfortunately, everyone will think Infiniti is copying Lexus

Actually after giving it another look, I don't think it looks like the G35 at all. It looks exactly like a new Maxima, with an extended nose. Lexus does suck

I have not seen any new ads for the M45 yet, but have seen many ads in the past week for the new Lexus GS. Infiniti needs to work on the marketing and I would love for them to do what they did to the old 5 series BMW comparison where they put the two cars side by side and say it not only out accelerates a 5 series it out breaks one also. I would love to see the M45 do the same back at Lexus...but I have no idea even if the M45 would win.

I've actually seen quite a few ads locally, like in the L.A. Times, and on T.V. In the Times they've run some full page ad's in the past few weeks.

I keep on seeing those stupid GS commercials on TV with the starter button. They're on top with the advertising. I finally saw the first M commercial last night. Infiniti better get cracking on this one before Lexus beat them to the punch again. No reason to buy the GS if the M is cheaper, more powerful and look almost the same.

Infininti has earmarked $65M for advertising this year (thank you new car buyers!)

The GS looks like a rear wheel drive Avalon to me. Not bad, but not exciting nor involving.

^ totall agrement, unfortunately, we are the few who appreciate a car which isn't just like all the rest of them. Although, in a few years we should be in good shape when looking for a used one!

I think it now has a rear-biased AWD option (maybe standard).

I like it (you can see a 360 view at msn carpoint), but why pay the extra money over a M_5x?

GS300 - 245hp M35 - 280GS430 - 300hp M45 - 335

and probaly $10k less on the stickers for the respective infiniti models - though GS pricing hasnt been released yet.
