After a couple of tries in the usual channel, I thought getting a new left front door seal would be impossible. So Brad at OIP just wouldn't give up on finding a new one. We think Infiniti may have manufactured a new batch of door seals because the rubber and packaging sure feels and smells like new.

The cost for a new door seal today + shipping is:

Part Number Part Description Quantity Price
8083160U10 On door Left 1990 - 1993 --- $147.35

A batch of seals may have been recently made to fulfill this order. So if you think you need one in this future, this could be a good time to order one and just keep it on hand.

Makes the Wurth treatment seem like bargain of the year.

For sure..

While the previous owner did a great job of keeping the car out of sunlight, no seal treatments were applied. I get a little wind noise from around the driver's door near the upper hinge. The seal has flattened over the years. The seal is not cracked or broken, just flattened around the upper hinge area.

Can the door be tightened?

At that cost I wonder is something like this could be home made? Sure its not OEM but its cheaper!

I think some kind of a silicone injection in the seal's inner core would make it bounce up again.

But it would also make it hard ans defeat the seals purpose.
