Lovin our new 09 LE. Picked it up Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Just returned from a 1800 mile trip to the Smokys. Glad I found you guys and really glad to see Bishop's explaination of the burning smell being caused by the exhaust system burning the undercoating. My experience--no smell as long as I'm going at least 40+ MPH. But after I crept up mountain roads at 10 - 15 (or slower) mph then stopped, I could really smell it. I'm guessing that at faster speeds the circulation keeps the undercoating from heating up smelling.

In jut two days I've learned a lot from you guys. thanks

Back to the topic: is there a LE version of V? (I know S and SL, but I haven't seen a LE.)

Welcome.

And yes, most likely is used to Nissan's older model level naming.

Sorry Guys, That was my first post and some how I posted to the wrong forum---should have posted on the Murano forum.

Maybe LE is Lame Excuse--but it is all I have. RudyB

Ummm, yeah, this was the point of my original post. As far as I know there is no LE version of the Versa, either in the 1.8 or the 1.6. Thanks a lot to those who gave me every possible connotation of the term LE.

L stands for Liter, not for the trim level.

According to http://www.nissanusa.com/versa...a.VLP 1.6 is just called 1.6 Base and 1.6.

But even the Muranos follow the S and SL package lettering.

Doesnt this make more sense:

Versa S - "S" meaning Sport?

Versa SL - "SL" meaning Sport Luxury?

I think these meanings are more suitable.
