Ok, locked onto these old school wheels with tires for dirt cheap. They're 4 lug, but the problem is the offset. I think they're nearly zero offset, so they poke out pretty far. The more I look at them, the more I want to keep them, so any suggestion are appreciated. I'm really leaning toward fender flares, and later widebody.

Sizes are (4-lug):FRONT: 17x8, 225/45-17 ZR Falken somethings...REAR: 17x9, 245/45-17 ZR Dunlop somethings...

The plus side of the offset is that they'll DEFINITELY clear coilovers!

Nice lookin wheels! lol they do come out pretty far though, damn. Dont let them sit for too long like that, you'll be like those people with the unpainted body kits who never seem to get around to doing it right.

By the way, please be mindful of where you post your threads-- try to match the topic to the specific forum that covers the subject. This one should be in the wheels forum, while your other post should be in maybe 240sx general. I'd like to keep this forum mostly KA-T specific as much as possible.

I'll move the threads in a little while after they get some exposure here first.

Doh! I'm such a noob. I failed the interweb.

Thanks for movin' them for me. And thanks for the compliments.

Yes, I must do something soon...it's been two days and I'm already feeling the burn.

I think you should put the 225's on the 9's and get some 215's for the 8's...

you'd really be better off buying a whole new set of tires with a little bit of a stretch so that you can have a little more room to work with on the fenderarea.

also, I'm thinkin that those are lower than 0 et. those are obviously truck wheels, but with the right tires and maybe a coat of paint on the centers, they'lllook alright.

be aware that these will have no performance benefits, and may be makingnegative steps in the direction of handling. and just so you know, fender flaresaren't gonna cut it on this one, you'd need widebody fenders, russell couldtell you how many mm you're lookin at...I'm thinkin 50mm front, 65mm rear?

and you need to get those coilovers you mentioned these being able to clearcause you're lookin kinda wells fargo

How could these wheels not be any better (performance wise) than the 15x7's that were on the car? Plus, they weight 20lbs. each with tires.

I agree on the center caps...they need to go. Something flatter would be better.

couple things...

you already had aftermarket 15's right? cause stocks are 15x6 +40.

more rotational mass produces less horsepower, meaning the bigger the wheel, the more the motor exerts itself to put power to the wheels.that means less performance

also, the offset is completely wrong. I'm not saying that I don't like low offsets, I'm running low offsets now, but as has been made very clear to me not only does hub and bearing stress increase, it makes it a lot harder to bring it into productive spec.

its like chet told me, artificially increasing track width can be more counterproductive than productive. Doesn't mean that you can't get away with it, but with the sizing you've chosen, it is going to be muchmore difficult for you to do anything with in the long run.

I'm not saying that those wheels don't weight 20 lbs each with tires...but it is highly unlikely to me that they weigh under 20 lbs each even without tires. If they are 20lbs per with tires fully inflated, lets see a pic on the scale

On a side note, if you DID widebody your car and you could tuck those, it would look proper...to me though, if you're going to widebody a car for some wheels...they had better be something really special.where's this fool russell when you need him?

I hope your'e going for fender flares, because that looks very lowrider-ish. That offset is *too* positive, looks like if you hit a pothole hard enough your'e going to have tire against metal.

Those are ridiculous. Unless you're going to make a show car with giant overfenders and matching aero and paint, sell them. They obviously don't fit your car, you're trying too hard to be JDM flush, and it just looks bad. Also, 245/45/17 is a pretty bad size for an S chassis car because its too tall.

Those wheels definately stick out a bit too much. IF you really want to keep those wheels your going to need a different tire setup. In agreeing with continental there is a extremely high chance that those wheels weight 20lbs with the tires mounted on.Where is Russelpants any way he usually has some good input, at least I know he helped me out a few times

Ok, first thing tomorrow morning, the "ethnic" truck wheels go on Ebay. I've had them for 2 days and I don't like them. They don't fit correctly, they're far too blingy for my taste and doing the body work to tuck them correctly would cost more than just buying the appropriate wheels.

I'll toss the 15's on in the morning and start lookin' for wheels again.

That was a smart choice, I didnt want to be the a$$ that told you those wheels look like $hit so I just kept my mouth shut.

If your looking for 17x9 you can look into Fno1rc's or the Hanabi's both come in 17x9 in 20offset which look nice on S13's

Yeah dude, those wheels make your car look so retarded/gay/lame/vato.

SPL sells 17x9 +20 in 4 lug that will fit properly and look good.

Thank god you came to your senses. Those wheels didn't have a chance in h-e-double-hockey-sticks (Sorry I'm from MN originally) to look good on a 240 let alone any other car for that matter. Talk about Tires Plus special.

Cmon man you can do better than that even if you're on a budget.

Ok, mexican truck wheels are comin' off tomorrow and the new wheels/tires are goin' on.

They're not the size I wanted, but for the price range I'm in, they'll be perfect. 18x8 all around (so I can rotate the tires) and 4-lug with the proper offset (I think +35 or +30...can't remember).

I'll post up some pics tomorrow when I get them on the car.
