Looks promising. Let us know how the install goes. Pictures too of the install if you get the chance.

okay, i installed it today in two hours. i followed the directions previously posted here around february/march on IPOD integrations. it had great pictures. and followed the direction for this item.

so i see my ipod songs/titles/play lists on my navigation screen. i use seek to change playlists and the tune knob to change songs.

Bryan , from the website I bought it freom called me on a sunday to verify my car settings and followed up and made sure it worked. very cool guy.

i am not a techy either and it was simple. i was afraid at first to open up my perfect car but i did not mess it up.

good times now!!!

thanks for the info, I've been looking for a way to use the radio instead of the Ipod. Do you know if it plays videos?

I just installed the same adapter. It does not play videos, nor does it have the capability to do so -- you would have to install a monitor switch manually to do something like that.

However, that said, the adapter works great. Only downside is, it seems to have a limit on number of playlists -- when I seek through them (as described by glen), it goes back to the 1st playlist after about #9 or #10.

Bryan at Integration Solutions offers amazing post-sale support, and helped my colorblind arse find the right line to tap into on the stereo

If I'm reading the installation instructions correctly, something gets unplugged, and does not get plugged back in. What functionality is lost by using this pice? Or, can the wires simply be spliced together?

Glen,

I too saw this on ebay and am intriqued. I appreciate the info.

I am concerned that it stated satellite radio would be disabled when installing this. Although, it did say "factory installed", I have dealer installed XM. Likely no difference.

Do you have satellite radio and if so, how did you work around it?

Thanks.

I ordered my kit Tuesday and got it today. Always nice living in the same state as the vendor. I've looked over the instructions from January about how to remove the dash but I don't quite get the piece with the shifter. I've tried pushing down on the leather boot around the shifter but it doesn't seem to move. Is there any trick for getting that piece down so you can remove the shift knob?

Trying to get as much info as possible for this weekend for the install. I got the XM and IPOD kit as I have a base M35 Sport.

ThanksJeff

OK. I got past the shift knob removal. That was easy. I've got everything hooked up but pressing the Radio button does not go to the IPOD or XM.

On the connector next to where you plug into with the Axxess device that is where I spliced into the purple wire with 2 silver dots (pin 7) and then the yellow wire on the end. There are actually 2 yellow wires on this connector. Can anyone confirm which wires you tapped into so I can finish this up in the morning?

ThanksJeff

If you find the answer, please post.

I have Sirius hooked up (stock), but would love to get this installed as well

jeff your definitely brave, i would be to scared to screw something up to actually take the dash apart myself. let us know how that goes.

anyone know how much the installation would cost if i were to take it to the dealership and have them install it?

also why does altima get this option standard on the 07's?

I actually got through all of the issues without a problem. Turns out one of the t-taps didn't go into slot. My fault for doing the install at night in my garage using a flashlight and the overhead light. Bryan at Integration Solutions responded to my e-mail that night at 10pm saying to call them in the morning to work through the issues. By the time he called me back I already had everything working. I was actually driving around waiting for my XM to kick in when he called.

I love having XM and IPOD factory in the car. The sound is lower for both as is typical with these installs but I have no complaints. The Axxess unit fits nicely behind the radio and ran the wire for the IPOD up to the armrest. Probably drill a hole some day instead of coming up by the passenger seat. I put the XM receiver under the passenger dash (think above your feet). Just used velcro so I could easily remove if necessary. Then just ran the antenna wire up the side of the dash by the door and put the antenna on the dash in front of the passenger up in the corner by the A-pillar. Reception is not a problem there.

As far as installation goes its a piece of cake really. I was just being overly cautious and not applying enough pressure at times. The only thing I had to get was an 8" phillips screwdriver for 2 of the radio screws. I've taken the dash apart twice now and can get to behind the radio in about 5 minutes.
