Has anyone used this intake? good buy?

Dyno graph's power and torque curves were increased among all RPM range without any sacrafice of power.

I personally would try to get somethign that takes it's make up air from outside the hot engine bay, it might show nice on a dyno with open hood but how does it perform with the hood closed on a hot day?

I am using an AEM setup just like that and found it to be perfect for the car and engine. I do agree that if you have or show signs of increases EGT's that you may need to drag cooler air from other than the engine compartment. That has not been the case at all with me. When I had the AEM bent down lower in the front of the grill and it got wet there where problems with hydro lock and that is exactly why I shortened the unit up into the engine near the hood and then also added a Air Bypass Valve.

to prevent that from ever happening again.

Good luck,
