what is the purpose of the large ramp between the banks?

just looking for more volume, or something else?

It adds some volume yes, but the main purpose is to feed air evenly to all 8 runners. The throttle body is located under the main plenum box and facing the back (yes going through the firewall). Hopefully when I add boost the ramp will work to keep air from building pressure toward the front, feeding more to the front cylinders.

Very nice... What made you decide to go with such a short runner length? However, under boost the Helmholtz effect doesnt really come into play as much than it does with NA

Hood clearance is my major concern. With this design I will have about a 30-40mm bulge in the hood to cover the intake. But I am thinking of just leaving a hole in the hood and putting a weather strip mounding that seals around the plenum when the hood is closed.

The intake is tuned to helmholtz 5th reflection and peak torque target of 5000rpm. The intake port is actually nearly 4inches so my overall port length from plenum to valves is about 10inches. I am planning to make this motor sing anyway so I wanted a little bit shorter runners.

More pics on the way

Awaiting the results of an extensive flow bench test and the methods you use to balance individual flows.

Nice work... I'd like to know how you work out the helmholtz resonance factors.
