Yes I've searched, but all anyone ever says is that they've upgraded their injectors. They never say when they needed to do it.

So, with that said. At what point do you have to upgrade your injectors to 550cc on a Redtop? Is it dependant on your PSI or your hp? To go along with this, do you have to upgrade your fuel rail as well?

To give you a little background I'm picking up my SR next week and I am trying to figure out what I'll need to buy in order to finish the install. Don't stop reading here! The engine isn't coming with the stock intercooler or piping, so I'll be buying a FMIC (probably Blitz LM). Also I'll be purchasing a 14" Parma Cool fan, custom Blitz hotpipe kit (from HT), 3" downpipe, battery relo kit, Walbro fuel pump, and 300zx fuel filter.

I will be asking a lot of questions over the next couple of months so please bare with me. I will promise you that for every question I will have searched this site as well as the other sites out there (Zilvia.net and the such). So if anyone tells me to use the big red search button then you can piss off. I won't be responding and I'll bump up the thread until I get an answer that helps me through the trouble I am having.

Thank you all for your support!

Well injectors should usually be upgraded when the stock s13 370cc injectors are at max duty cyle or efficiency. This is usually at about 270+whp. Most do the upgrade when they upgrade their turbo's because it is a must since stock fuel injectors can't handle high hp numbers (over about 280whp). So if you dont plan on upgrading the turbo soon don't worry about this. 550cc injectors are expensive ($500-699), so buy them when you're ready for serious hp and a turbo upgrade.

sorry but the answer you are looking for has been discussed but you were cool about everything so... the stock injectors are good up to 14psi on the stock turbo. so with jsut bolt ons you'll be fine. if you ever upgrade the turbo then u will have to upgrade the injectors. 550's would be needed if u upgraded to an s14 or s15 turbo and they would be ok for a t3/t4

Actually it all depends on your hp goals. For s14 and s15 turbo you could settle for s15 470cc injectors that's what I was going to do. You can get ahold of these for about 200-250 bucks and are perfect if 300whp is your goal.

You guys have all been great! Thank you so much for the useful information.

Structure240sx, I'm sorry, but I couldn't find it anywhere. If you happen to see it could you put a link to that thread. Maybe by reading it I can find out why my search didn't pick it up or why I over looked it. I'm always learning and I want to keep the posts to a minimum during this process.

Thanks again everyone, I couldn't do this swap without all your help!

If you are running mild bolt ons, such as intake, dp, fmic, exhaust, o2 extension, and light boost on stock turbo, stock injectors are enough and should be good.

if you get newer turbo and is making 270whp, then chance is that your car is pretty modified. Your car will burn more fuel. Though, if you just upgrade the fuel injectors, your fuel pump MAY become the bottleneck, so its good to do both. If you are making even higher hp later on, you must get fuel managmenet for safety.

Damn, I could never imagine myself running 270hp at the wheels. Too many things to worry about; head gasket, pump, injectors, turbo, confusing electronics.....sigh......

boltons and light boost is good enough for me ;)

Structure240sx, I think I know what you were talking about and I also know why I didn't understand. In the sr20det FAQ it says that the stock injectors will hold up to 1 bar of boost. That would have answered my question, but to be honest I don't know what 1 bar of boost is. I'm going to search for that now.

1 week, I can't wait!!!

Ok to be exact smart-A S S ... 1 bar is 14.7 psi @ sea level And .5 bar is 7.8 psi.

You could have posted that, instead of just saying I was wrong. Oh and please stick to posting useful information Jesse.

if you go anything above STOCK boost, you upgrade your injectors..if u pay attention correctly, 14 psi is safe for your TURBO.

so if u plan on going over 7 psi, upgrade your fuel pump, injectors and MAF.

if u don't...there's a better chance of UFFIN up ur turbo...like i did :)

I think pointing out that you posted incorrect info would be considered by most as very Useful info. sorry buddy : )

14.7psi is a lot closer to 15 than 14 anyway, no? ; )

Sorry i didnt 'give' it to you, and made you look it up.

PLUS, i would MUCh rather be a Smart A S S, then a Dumb A S S

Is it bad to have a high flow fuel pump with stock injectors? Just wondering 'cause I have a tomei pump (rated up to 500hp) on backorder, but don't plan on upgrading my turbo and injectors for awhile after my swap. Obviously bigger injectors with an underflowed pump is bad but what about vice versa?

Sorry about the double post but I also was wondering if you can swap other injectors from other cars into it. Side feed injectors I know. I know the supra is side feed but would it work?

You really don't have to worry about upgrading your injectors until you want some serious boost. Even the stock fuel pump is good for just a little more than stock boost (7-10).

If and when you are going to upgrade, check out http://www.enjukuracing.com they have some awesome kits for sale for reasonable prices. Saving up for one myself! Pushing almost 400hp will be unbelievable! Anyone running more than 300HP on a Redtop or a Blacktop? Let me know about it....very interested.
